Bad Advice, Part II

President Biden has announced a new travel ban to protect us from new strains of SARS-2. Only one problem with this. It's not a ban. It's a partial restriction.

President Biden will reimpose a ban on many non-U.S. citizens attempting to enter the country. The move is an attempt to limit the spread of COVID-19 and contain new variants of the disease that have cropped up in several countries around the globe, according to media reports Sunday.

NPR, January 25, 2021

I know of no special immunity to bad strains of SARS-2 for American citizens.

This "ban" will be close to worthless. More infectious and more lethal strains of SARS-2 will continue to enter the US with this sort of half-measure.

The public health "experts" made exactly the same recommendation to President Trump. How did that work for him? President Biden retained many of the same people responsible for our disastrous response to SARS-2 in his new administration. Have they learned anything from 2020? I see no evidence of this.

Buckle up.

Biden and Trump have a problem in common, they can't mandate lockdowns and mask wearing on a federal level.

Biden has approached this from the educate people route, but he has a huge extra obstacle to overcome with the mountains of false information previously spread by Trump.  Yes, Trump is guilty of this, but that is not the point now.  Now the problem has to be dealt with, it is currently irrelevant who caused it.  The fact that Trump did, has no bearing on how to deal with it.

What matters now is that this is taken into consideration and planned around.  I don't see Biden doing particularily well at this so far.  Better than Trump is no vote of confidence!  OK, it is not Biden's fault (let's get that out of the way first) it is Trump's, .  But that does not matter!  How it is dealt with, is what matters, and the only option in this federal system, is education.  If the education does not reach everyone, it is pointless.  I only see it being promulgated on pro-Biden news sources.  It has to be everywhere to work.

His lips or pen are moving.
