Nursing home outbreak after residents receive vaccine, no serious symptoms

They received their final doses of the Pfizer vaccine by January 25.

A nursing home in the Osnabruck district of Belm, Germany, reported an outbreak of the UK coronavirusvariant within its care facility, despite all of the residents having received two doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.

Some 14 residents tested positive for the coronavirus last week, according to DW News. They all had received their final doses of the Pfizer vaccine by January 25.

However, none of them experienced or show signs of serious or life-threatening symptoms associated with the deadly disease.

There was no information on how the residents of the care home became exposed to the virus, or if the doors were opened up to visitors following the vaccination campaign.

It'll be interesting to follow this group and see how they are doing in a month or two.  And longer term.

I have read of a few outbreaks starting from vaccination sites. One reason I will be wearing my N95 with cloth mask plus shield when we have our vaccine clinic here where I live in another week. Like I have said many times, I see so many folks not wearing masks or not wearing them properly here - I feel like I am walking through a minefield when I leave my apartment.  Never mind that folks don't keep apart from others - seems to be no concept of personal space here too. My other concern is folks completely disregarding any type of NPI after they receive their jab. I have seen reports of people getting Covid between their first and second jabs. (I can't help but think they became less cautious)

My mother in UK had first shot ,just waiting on 2nd.....

She knows at 85 that even after the 2nd shot she has to take precautions .........

Take care all 😷😉
