by monotreme1000 | February 20, 2021 The Grid The recent near-failure of the grid in Texas should remind us how fragile is our lifeline to warmth, water and food. Despite numerous warnings over the years, the most critical piece of our infrastructure has been allowed to deteriorate. The Evil Mosaic How to understand Xi Jinping's China? There are three influences: Hard Things or Degeneracy? KimT commented on the Prepping thread that growing your own food is hard work. That's true. Farming has always been hard work. It's been made easier by new technology, but I suspect it will always require substantial physical and mental effort for people to grow their own food. And that is a good thing, in my opinion. |

I mostly agree with your thoughts, People wrapped up in there own world, Enabled by Mobile phones, and streaming mostly crap on as you say Netflix to name one , In theses streaming shows is either murder,or devils, whitches, Demons , The only good SF show for years has been the "Expance "on Amazon, The planet is in trouble, and all most are interested in is the size of someones fat arse,or how good someone can ,hit, kick, throw a ball..... The lack of edukation in science and maths is shocking,we have lots of accountants, bankers ,who seem to know little of the earth sciences...... You got dumb actors earning massive amounts of money, for their dumb kids to get college places that should be taken up by some kid with an IQ of 250000,but unfortunately that kids parents live in the ghetto.....and he hasn't a chance of the education that the world could benefit from......... take care all 😷😉 |

To me, most distressing of all is that we have people dumb enough to believe every damn thing they see on Facebook/Twitter/YouTube and too damn lazy to look things up via decent sources, assuming they know the difference! Then they go around, spreading the nonsense to other people who are just as gullible and lazy as they are. One reason we're in the straits we're in... |
