I read an article yesterday - that I can't find now so I'm posting a different one - that talked of the dozens of bodies that have been found floating in the Ganges in India. The article included an interview with someone who said that these were from 13 villages upstream where the villagers had run out of wood to cremate their covid victims and so were "burying" them in the Ganges. This can't end well.

Those who got it wrong, for whatever reason, may feel defensive and retrench into a position that doesn’t accord with the facts.

The bit about dogs eating the bodies, turned my stomach,

It's not going to get any better in theses countries,

26 million vaccinated,only 1.2 billion souls to go......at that's only in India......

I'm just waiting for  it to hit Pakistan, and Africa

Take care all πŸ˜·πŸ˜‰

I did a quick count on the photo and  it looks as if there are almost thirty (30) graves in that small section.

Quote ...reports that more than 1,000 corpses of COVID-19 victims had been recovered from rivers in the past two weeks.

....

poor people have been disposing of the bodies in the river because of the exorbitant cost of performing the last rites and a shortage of wood. The cremation cost has tripled

India's holiest river is swollen with Covid victims

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-57154564

Quote

Traditionally, Hindus cremate their dead. But many communities follow what is known as "Jal Pravah" - the practice of floating in the river the bodies of children, unwed girls, or those who die from infectious diseases or snake bites.

Many poor people also cannot afford cremation, and so they wrap the body in white muslin and push it into the water.

*****

He said officially 196 people had died from the virus in Kanpur between 16 April and 5 May, but the data from seven crematoriums showed nearly 8,000 cremations.......

"But they only accepted bodies that were coming from hospitals with Covid-19 certificates, and a huge number of people were dying at home, without getting any tests. Their families took the bodies to the outskirts of the city or to neighbouring districts like Unnao. When they couldn't find wood or a cremation spot, they just buried them on the river bed."

The 'unknown' Covid-19 deaths in rural India

ps from the lists the reporter was shown the local communities have kept records of deaths, but without testing these have not entered the statistics.   Also the scale of burial by the rivers is massive, far higher than any thing I have seen in other pictures - this runs 2 -3 thousand in one location [as they needed a covid certificate to be cremated these would all be 'unregistered' deaths]

It's a horror story of epic proportions......

We here in civilized ???!!!!

Western countries are oblivious to this horror,

Also,

Talking to an Iranian lady the other day,her family have been locked down for 16 months( in Iran),only one person goes out in full ppe,we haven't heard about that on main stream news.....

Wonders what else we haven't heard about.......

Take care all πŸ˜·πŸ˜‰

Iran, with that level of lock down has reported 955 deaths / million. But they were one of the earlier countries to be hard hit.

India, although reporting huge numbers has officially only seen 252 deaths / million, just over half of the world's (official) average of 481 deaths/ million.  So all I can conclude is that there is massive under-testing and under-reporting in India.
