It appears likely that the first, potentially significant heatwave is forecast to deliver hot temperatures towards the mid-30s soon.

While the weather should be relatively stable and dry under the upper High, daytime temperatures should push into the low 30s in many regions, possibly also into the 35 °C range or even higher in some places.

The heat is forecast to persist for days, therefore it will be soon classified as the heatwave – the first significant one of summer 2021.

Note: Per definition, a heatwave occurs when the daily maximum temperature of more than five consecutive days exceeds the average maximum temperature by 5 °C, based on the normal period being 1961–1990.

Model guidance also suggests that some further pattern change dynamics are likely to follow late next week, with a deep wave emerging towards western Europe from the Atlantic. Often this leads to increased chances for severe weather across western and also central Europe.

In late June and late July 2019 there were two temporally distinct European heat waves, which set all-time high temperature records in Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom.[3]

In late June, a heat wave killed over 567 people,[4] and according to meteorologists was caused by high pressure and winds from the Sahara Desert affecting large parts of the continent.[5] It resulted in record-breaking temperatures for the month of June at many locations.[6][7] France experienced temperatures in excess of 45 °C (113 °F) for the first time in recorded history. A national all-time record high temperature of 46.0 °C (114.8 °F) occurred on 28 June in Vérargues

History "repeats itself" means patterns may show up more then once (that is why the become paterns...). Green hous gas emmisions did go up-even with "political promisses to bring them down"...the Arctic Ice sheet may move towards another minimum...

DJ-While the pandemic may be worsening on a global scale climate change may become even a bigger risk.

U.S. likely claims hottest place on Earth as heat tightens grip on more than 100 million

Kathryn Prociv and Jeremy Lewan

On Tuesday, Death Valley, California, climbed to 124 degrees, making it not only the hottest spot in the United States but also likely one of the hottest, if not the hottest, locations in the world.

Wednesday was forecast to only get hotter, with Death Valley predicted to soar to a blistering 128 degrees.

With temperatures rising to 10 to 30 degrees above average, dozens of records were demolished Tuesday across Wyoming, Utah, South Dakota, Nevada, Arizona and Southern California. Casper, Wyoming, broke its previous record high of 93 by a full 9 degrees. Many other Western cities saw similar, even more extreme events: Billings, Montana, shattered its daily record by 10 degrees (new record: 108), and Chula Vista, California, smashed its record by a whopping 13 whole degrees (new record: 89).

All-time record temperatures were tied on Tuesday in Billings at 108 degrees, Salt Lake City at 107 and Cheyenne, Wyoming, at 94. New records for the hottest temperatures for the month of June were set in other portions of Utah, where temperatures soared above 105

The hurricane season 2021 has begun on June 1st, with the first-named storm Ana forming even before the official start. By Father’s Day coming up late this week, a tropical wave currently rolling over the western Gulf of Mexico could become Tropical Storm. It may meander north and reach the United States Gulf Coast in Texas or Louisiana. Another storm, Bill, is expected to form off the Atlantic Coast on Tuesday.

According to various sources, the Atlantic hurricane season 2021 is likely to be very active. Thinking just what has been achieved with the record-breaking season last year, hurricane preparedness is needed.

Just as we enter into the mid-June period, there are three tropical waves with a rising potential to become organized tropical disturbances this week. Storm Bill could be on the way along the Atlantic coast soon, followed by Tropical Storm Claudette near the Texas Gulf Coast towards the weekend.

We may see extreme thunderstorms in Europe coming days-temp could get 35c/90F like here tomorrow...
