DJ-Reopening NL since june 26 did see an explosion of cases. Also cases in care facilities are going up (last week 20-this week 35). Hospital cases/ICU +, deaths still limited-but looking at the UK NL deaths soon will increase again.

The "NL government" seems to be going for herd immunity...leaving it up to organizations to increase protection.

There may be legal steps against our healthminister for "dansen met Janssen" /dancing with J&J claim...People were told it was safe to go out after getting J&J vaccination-no need for two week building immunity "because they were young"....Lawyers think young people now getting long covid (DJ-and there may be thousends of them in NL !) will be succesfull against the health ministery...

Also "testing for entry" (costs over 1 billion € !!!) was full of fraud...translating "fieldlab" findings (limited events with a lot of testing)  into "testing for entry" (large scale events, only check if people have a QR-code on entry) was that bad I expect the "NL government" may expect lots of lawsuits/legal cases...

Still this "government" may even get more votes if we would have elections now- "showing leadership"...A lot of voters simply do not see this government is causing also the disasters in wich "leadership can be shown"...

Celebrating the fireman that started the fire....

latest R0 for NL =1,17 https://coronadashboard.government.nl/landelijk/reproductiegetal or https://coronadashboard.government.nl/landelijk/reproductiegetal

Last week NL had 411,7 new cases per 100,000, Germany had 10,6...

NL almost no restrictions-Germany masks FPP2 needed almost everywhere...

Tested cases around 6,000+ in NL last days with cyber attacks on test-planners...so very likely reduced testing.

An average of 8,119 people were diagnosed with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus infection on each of the past seven days, reflecting an 18 percent decrease one week after the July surge in daily infections peaked in the Netherlands.

Public health agency RIVM said that another 6,453 people tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus infection, the fourth consecutive day that total has been below seven thousand. That brought the seven-day moving average down eight percent in a day.

There was some concern that the DDoS attacks being carried out against the GGD was impacting how many people were scheduling a coronavirus test. Indeed preliminary data showed a downward trend in the number of tests carried out, but also a downward trend in the percentage of people who tested positive.

Covid-19 hospital patient total up 9 percent to 477

Dutch hospitals were treating 41 more patients with Covid-19 on Friday compared to a day earlier. The nine percent increase pushed the hospitalized total up to 477, the most since June 21.

The increase was entirely within the regular care wards, which were treating 370 people with the disease. The other 107 patients were being treated in intensive care units, the same as on Thursday after accounting for admissions, discharges and deaths.

Hospitals admitted a total of 84 patients with Covid-19 between the afternoons of Thursday and Friday, including seven sent straight to an ICU. On average, 70 patients with the disease were admitted on each of the past seven days, the highest that average has been since June 5. About ten new patients daily were sent directly to intensive care.

The rising figures were expected to continue for at least the short-term, though there were some signs the hospital total could be starting to stabilize. Still, the combined total of 477 was 80 percent higher compared to a week ago.

A similar increase would push the total up to 865 within a week.

Germany formally announced new restrictions on people arriving in that country from the Netherlands, after much of the Netherlands was placed at the highest coronavirus risk level by the European Centre for Disease Control and Prevention.

"The Netherlands (including the autonomous countries and the Caribbean parts of the Kingdom of the Netherlands) is now considered a high incidence area," the Robert Koch Institute said in its weekly update on Friday as was widely expected. The designation will be in effect right at the start of Tuesday, July 27. Spain was also added to the high-incidence list.
