The problem here is,

The government has seized the number 80% of adult population vaccinated,

In reality, it should be 80% of the whole population children included......that's herd immunity,

Anything less is very dangerous in my opinion......

Mutations will nullify the vaccine.....

Sure as eggs are ovum......

Here the government modellers have said that herd immunity is simply not possible. It would need 96% to be vaccinated with a vaccine that works or to have natural immunity and that figure is simply not achievable and the current vaccines don't stop people getting it so unless there was a better one, it won't work.

I think that here they are planning on reopening the borders once every adult who wants a vaccine has been offered one and has had a chance to be double jabbed (time wise, that is), and then they'll allow it in. The current lockdowns are happening because only about 2 million have had one jab, out of a population of 5 million.
Those who got it wrong, for whatever reason, may feel defensive and retrench into a position that doesn’t accord with the facts.

Looks like UK's number going up,

I don't believe any vaccine stops you getting any sickness,

Just reduces your illness.....

Finland is using the figure of 90% for full opening, but as the minister said "Right now it appears that it's very difficult to achieve coverage of more than 85 percent. "

Delta has a R0 of between 5 and 8-to get the R0 under 1 you need both-vaccines AND restrictions. Vaccinating to lift restrictions will keep the R0 above 1 (look at UK, Israel, NL numbers...) ...but "politics and science" does not mix !
