I was thinking after storm Ida,with the flood waters filled with sewage, will we see a surge in cases in the Northeast, and a higher spike in Louisiana? Would the virus degrade in the volume of water? When streets dry out will it be tracked by everyone into homes and businesses? Communities already test the sewage for covid levels. Early Wuhan spraying the streets with bleach was commonplace. |

Pixie, yes it most likely will ! Not because people get the virus from the mud though ! People had to shelter, group together, to stay dry. There the Delta+/AY.4 variant (59% of US cases is this Delta+ variant !) had all the chance to spread ! On top of that restarting school, work will also see icrease of cases...lots of them in unvaccinated children-spreading it further into the families. The idea children can hardly develop severe illness is history with Delta !!! Autumn is coming, more storms may be on their way towards the US. Power/water problems may further worsen the perspectives. |
