Here in Finland we have had very low covid numbers, but recently the hospitalization rates have shot up.  The nearest hospital to where I live with an ICU unit (it is a teaching hospital so very large) has had to transfer patients to other areas.   The current surge of patients needing ICU care are mostly un-vaccinated.

This  surge in patients needing care has of course lead to other people with health needs having their care postponed.   One data item that came out of the recent news is that the Covid-patients spend, on average, about three times as long in ICU as other patients.

In an ideal world hospital care would not be limited.  But if you were a hospital administrator facing capacity, would you limit the intake of ONE covid patient so you could treat THREE others in ICU ?  So far it seems that the general view point is to take the Covid patient and cancel all operations for the other three.

The report puts this ethical dilemma this way:  "there are ethical issues associated with long-term Covid care, as Finland needs to find a balance between adequate specialist care of Covid patients and the needs of patients suffering from numerous other ailments."

This is where the selfishness of the unvaccinated comes to a head......

It's not all About "their rights " when thoses actions or lack of affect others ,

Christian morals ,and the "good Samaritan" story have fallen of deaf ears.......

Take care all 😷😉💉

Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth.🖖
