You know just before(only women would know this)give birth feeling and you tidy up and you know something is going to happen..

Maybe it is something personal in my life or who knows..but I just feel if I don,t get my chit together...I will be in dodo

What is really nice is when I feel this way I can come in and post and find out if anyone else feels this way, or if it just me..no not you just me

Focus turns to avian influenza

The lower number of cases means that health care providers, including Kaiser, can hang on to their limited supplies of Tamiflu. That's the one medication health experts believe could be effective against avian influenza, which has killed 80 people in Asia and Turkey.

Public health experts around the globe are preparing for the widely predicted mutation of the avian flu — or another strain — into a form transmissible from person to person. The virus could cause a worldwide pandemic because the population would not have developed natural immunity to the disease.

Glaser said whatever happens with seasonal flu, state health officials are focused on the bird flu, which could prove far more deadly.

"We've got our eyes on avian flu," she said. "That's what we're holding our breath about."

i'm with you on this, its almost a complusion.  i have it too, i have had the feeling that something is going to happen for the past 2 days, waking up at night, trying to get things in order.  do not know what it is.  i have had this before and usually something happens. please don't get the wrong idea, i am not saying i can predict things. its like you know 2 days before your kid gets sick that they will be sick, there are subtle signs. anyway muskrat go with your instincts, they usually are right....

I too have had the same feeling the past 2 days. Feeling the I'm just waiting for the confirmation of this. I've been dividing my time between here and just getting the house in shape and taking inventory on what we have and making lists to what we need based uponabsolute essential, such as pet food, tp, batteries, etc. I've been waking up in the middle of the night and going over these things in my mind and reviewing what I've learned to see if there are any gaping holes that need to be addressed. I guess it's just waiting for the other shoe to drop that gets me edgy. Kind of like walking across the carpet in wool socks and knowing that if you touch metal or some one else the static is going to discharge. I feel the static building up into one h*ll of a shock here!

God Bless us all!

I'm feeling the same way. Woke up in the middle of the night thinking of all the people I know who will not be able to get their meds. Also have finished all my last minute orders. Have an order in for canned cheese and canned butter, one into Survival Acres, and another into Emergency Essentials. Then I looked in my bank account and discovered I had $24. Oops! Anyway, felt it necessary to finish these orders NOW as opposed to a few weeks down the road. Someone said WHO was meeting in Canada this weekend. Do you think they'll raise the alert level to 4?

While we're waiting for the other shoe to drop, I'm making sure I am caught up on any chore that involves water (keeping in mind Osterholm's statement about water facilities having 7 days worth of chlorine...). There is a huge mountain of laundry in the basement and I have absolutely got to get it done! Hang in there all. The waiting is really tough! -- Libby

Muskrat, my wife experienced this earlier this week.  A flurry of post-holiday house cleaing ensued - she went out and bought shelving units and had a field day in the kitchen and pantry organizing our storage.  It was the same bone-deep biological imperative urge you describe, almost a frantic urgency to it.  I must confess I feel the urge towards order and knowing what we have, where it is, and how to access it quickly.  This weekend I am building shelving for a back storage area we have, to organize tools, materials and prep supplies.   The garage is next.
