The annual death toll (over 400,000) is less then Covid-19, but this mostly hits infants and children. The vaccine is only 40% effective in preventing disease and 30% in preventing serious cases, but to my mind being able to save over 100,000 infants and children from dying is a great achievement. The low effective ratio is due to malaria being far more complicated than the SARS-CoV virus causing Covid-19 |

It's very interesting to watch an animation of how the malaria virus takes control of the cell ,explodes and spreads the virus throughout the body..... A vaccine will be very welcome. Take care all π·ππ |

I wonder what happened to the plan to release genetically modified mosquitos that would produce predominantly male offspring thereby leading to a population collapse? https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2020/05/200512134447.htm |

Those who got it wrong, for whatever reason, may feel defensive and retrench into a position that doesnβt accord with the facts.

As with Covid-19 a multi-strategy approach is needed, especially as it is clear the vaccine is not enough on its own. |
