Lights that kill germs

   I have seen lights at the door to ICU units and also at my barbers office he puts his shears under one, thay look like black lights. I think they are to kill germs? If so would somethink like that help to have at home or business near the doors during a pandemic? Anyone know or have thoughts on this?

	They are UV lights. UV light with interact with DNA or RNA and for dimers which essentially destroys the ability for that chain to be replicated. You should not expose yourself to UV lights for any more time than necessary. It would be worse than the sunniest day of the year when you don't have an sunscreen on.
