Doesn't the President have more important issues to work on right now like leading the country to a reduction in Covid 19 that is currently preventing folks with a US passport from traveling to Europe! I swear it just gets crazier and crazier every day....I just can't even...

President Trump announces plan for 'National Garden' of heroes

The executive order states the garden will feature statues of some presidents and other historic notables, including Davy Crockett, Harriet Tubman & Billy Graham.

My view from afar is that every human has both good and bad in their mix.  So we can find fault in any statue of anyone.   Somehow we need a balance of recognising both the good and the bad in each person, but in a time of heightened polarity this is hard.

There is a saying "you reap what you sow", and it seems that the statue issues is reaping the results of a divisive society where things are currently being judged on a single issue (this time the issue is race). The President must share some of the blame for increasing the divisive rhetoric of these times, by pouring oil on the fire instead of on troubled waters.

Tabitha, he's just pandering to his base.  That's what that whole scene at Mount Rushmore was about.  Pandering to his ever decreasing base.  Besides, he'd be hard pressed to get the funds through Congress in this crisis.  It will never happen.
