I like the forum. Been tracking it for a few weeks. I would like to recommend a new book called The Rooster, the Flu and the Imperial Medicine of the New Empire (Canary Press, www.canary21.com). Just came out this February written by a noted pathologist and alternative medicine doctor Majid Ali. For the flu, he has several protocols from use of hydrogen peroxide and Vitamin C drips to other alternative remedies like those mentioned before on this forum. I think that storing up food for a pandemic is practical in the short term while growing your own food is best for the long term. My own most trusted source of info over the last 10 years, a medical intuitive who has clients all over the world, says this pandemic is going to be worse than even what the experts are predicting as a worse case scenario. In addition to that few months supply of grub, my approach includes backyard gardening, window boxes and mini green housing. I also think the isolationist mode is a temporary fix. If this H5N1 is going to be around for a time we have to think that we will get infected and survive it just as others have survived viral infections. That means boosting our immune system and reducing the viral load within us. I don’t believe in the efficacy of the vaccine and avoid allopathic prescriptions as much as possible but if something is curing people I will take it. My first route would be “alternative” procedures. A friend noted that he tends to get the flu when he is depressed or fearful. I believe that if we freeze this thing in our mind as some sort of evil jinn coming out of a bottle we weaken our psyche. Faith in ourselves and a type of centering might be a more effective drug than Tamiflu ( of course with heedfulness in what we eat and good hygiene). Dr. Ali believes that ‘pandemics happen when deprivation, hunger and anger severely diminish resistance of the commoners of the empire to microbial invasion’. Who knows. I do think it makes sense that a deadly virus makes war on the other promiscuous virus ---human (to borrow a line from The Matrix). No human restraint seems to be on the horizon to stop global warming or the intolerance and greed that pervades this fledgling 21st century. An overhaul of civilization in my opinion is in order. That’s my two cents. Time will tell us the truth.

Rooster, the Flu and Imperial Medicine of the New Empire is very
readable. At some point I might post some of its major
points on the Alternative Medicine forum on this site. I think it is an
important book for the time.
