To all, I have noticed that many of you talk about news stories being pulled from the net. I Have noticed that to. So,now we do not know if they are pulled because they are not true or if they are being pulled because basically all governments in the world are more afraid of panic than they are of any disease. So we will just have to set and wonder what is really happening in the world? I hardly think they'd be pulled for inaccuracy. In fact its lies that the govt pushes - not truth. Have you forgotten WMDs?? The slickest lie is covert control by keeping everything hidden. That has been their ace in the hole and key to world domination.

Hi Johnray,
I can only state what I have seen, and its not all related to virus or flu information as I routinely follow events around the world especially Fukushima. Three things tend to happen to news stories related to the topics above, most notably on websites either in the US or run by US news agencies. I would like to add its not exclusive to US sites but those seem to be the ones most affected by this in my searches. 1) Stories just fade away. A good example of this is the suspected Ebola case that travelled through the US to Canada recently. Health authorities admitted that some kind of haemorrhagic fever was involved then everything just faded away and trying to find updates or additional information is almost impossible. 2) Stories are pulled from websites. This happens more with US sites than anywhere else in my experience, except maybe North Korea. I usually only know that a story has been pulled because I always check the source material to a news article I have read. As you know a lot of news is reposted and when you go to the source or do a date search to locate it, its gone...nadda, jacksquat, bupkis, just gone. Interestingly, the detail data can often be found if you search through some relevant medical journals so I often get the impression that the incident happened, its just not being reported. 3) News stories are a complete fiction. Some of these I completely understand when they get pulled from a site. I think these ones are just bad or lazy journalism. But some are definitely not and appear to me to be manipulation of the media to hide something. Anyone who has been following the slow motion nightmare at Fukushima knows exactly what I'm talking about here. As to if governments are worried about panic in the general population, I don't really believe that and don't think they care. I think that anyone who puts themselves up for election or government is sociopathic or psychopathic to a degree. I also think there is nothing more dangerous than a psychopath who knows they has a government funded escape bunker at his or her disposal. From all of the above, the worrying conclusion I have come to is that news that is pulled is probably partly true or contains a kernel of truth, whereas the ones that stay up are a pack of lies and should be treated with caution until solidly verified. Utwig. |

A good set of reasons why we need to be cautious of what we circulate. Something 5% inaccurate can be dismissed as erroneus and then nothing gets out, not even the other 95%. It is amazing how much the bald truth can be subtly displayed to give a totally false impression.

justca - be nice. That was unwarranted. Technophobe was making a valid point.

That came out of.... nowhere. Why the hostility? I thought Technophobes comments were well thought out and measured. Your comment is out of line IMO. |

Nobody wants to be blamed for making serious mistakes; that also goes for the press/media. On the one hand they like to have news as the first one but when there is a small chance of being not correct they "dump the story".

Yep.. Noticed several sites i watch on youtube being pulled. Or stuffed around with. PressTV was a good example. Even made it onto infowars
http://www.infowars.com/press-tv-taken-off-air-in-uk-%E2%80%93-war-for-freedom-of-speech-now-on/ Drudge is getting hit from all directions at the moment. Weirdly i find it hard to access RT sometimes

I was active on a Dutch News forum but got banned for talking over executions in the Ukraine. I think I am not an extremist putting extreme news on sites. Freedom on the internet seems to be under pressure.
