KCNA reported that the infected individual illegally entered North Korea through Kaesong City on July 19 after defecting to South Korea three years ago. The patient has received medical checkups and has been quarantined, along with everyone the individual has been in contact with recently, KCNA reported. I think that this is a clever move...North Korea admitting a coronavirus case but blaming in on South Korea and defectors. Although why anyone would want to and be able to cross the border undetected is beyond my ability to fathom (so I argre with the last posts that there is something fishy with the story. |

More details on how he crossed: "South Korea said the man reached the North by crawling through a drainpipe on a southern island, and then swimming about a mile." That was some swim in the open sea!
