surprise surprise surprise well not really I knew the government likes to cover things up, I remember hearing about some sort of diease was getting people sick at this one grocery chain that was mentioned in 2004. OM salmonella why in the world would people want to put half cooked meat into their mouths is beyond me. Even if there was no outbreak you still run the risk of getting sick if the meat is not cooked properly |

A strong percentage of the people like raw meat or nearly raw meat. Medium-Rare steaks are common in this country.
My father, a very germanic cultured man, used to make a dish that he called Hackfleisch (I may have the spelling wrong). He would take an inexpensive cut of beef (no fat attached) and chop it up into little chunks about an eighth of an inch in diameter, spice it and add chopped up onions. He ate it, but I simply could not do so. I didn't even have anough courage to put a small sample in my mouth. I have eaten sushi with raw fish inside the roll. I, too, have had Medium Rare steaks at restaurants. It all depends upon your acculturation. |

I'm most fortunate to have been raised by a mother who knew better than to feed us anything not completely cooked.
It doesn't matter if it's runny eggs or sunny side up eggs or rare or medium rare steaks or whatever. I've never eaten bologna or hot dogs straight out of the container. She didn't consider them 'cooked'. So... I will never get sick from undercooked meat unless I'm eating out . *smile* |
