Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf's closing of "non-life-sustaining" businesses and restrictions on gatherings during the COVID-19 pandemic were ruled unconstitutional by a federal judge on Monday.

Is there a provision in your constitution regarding extreme medical emergencies ?

There isn't in ours, the Supreme Court here said this is an unprecedented situation,and threw out of court a similar action bought by party trying to Break  down our border control......

If there is no provision for a pandemic in your constitution how can restictions be bought against something your founding fathers made no provision for? 

And what does your constitution say about governments mandating  evacuations in the event of a fire storm, or tornado ?

Or mandating a strict fire ban in extreme dry conditions ?(here you can't start a power tool, Big fines apply)

Just asking, we went through and are going through same process....

Wolf will appeal.  I doubt that this ruling will hold up, ultimately.

ViQueen is correct.  Once it's bounced up to a higher court, it will likely be struck down.

Yes, unfortunately, just probably not for several weeks, or even a few months.  Quite long enough for Covid to come back in here and get a good toehold, since, from what I understand, if it does, Gov. Wolf pretty much can't do anything.  Wonder how many other states that have been more draconian in their Covid measures will follow up and sue their governors...

Oh, I'm in favor of everything Wolf did, the "unfortunately" part is that it will be several weeks or a few months, allowing the virus to get a toehold again, after all of Wolf's and Dr. Rachel Levine's (and Pennsylvanians') hard work.  It's also worth noting that Judge William Stickman, who made the ruling, is a Trump appointee, who has run for office as a Republican before.  But I have read elsewhere that his decision was based on a flawed premise and will probably be struck down for its failure to properly address constitutionality:
