Do the powers that be and people who know have a good guess as to when the U.S. will have clusters of community passing virus?   Or is this a stupid question?

I ask this because if it is late May then schools most of them will be closed,

How can they know in America when only 3 states are testing and in total only 450 or so tests have been done to date? America isn't testing. If they don't know then you don't have it lol. I think America has decided to put the economy above the humanity of the country.

If you don't know it's around then you'll keep going to work, keep the economy going. There's method in their madness. Afterall, if there is no cure, no vaccine and it's already passed the point of containment then it will spread everywhere. Since most people seem to recover, they will just tell everyone they've got the flu and accept the mortality rates as par for the course.

To be honest, I may well have decided to do the same if I ran a country. It may well be inevitable that everyone gets this, so better not to make a fuss. By not testing you are saving your health service a huge amount of money and time and labour, and you are avoiding panic by not talking about it.

Those who got it wrong, for whatever reason, may feel defensive and retrench into a position that doesn’t accord with the facts.

It may never even get here in the US in any appreciable numbers.  SARS didn't.

Or, it might be here & we aren't picking it up yet.  Remember, most cases are mild, and some never even manifest symptoms.

According to CDC, between Oct. 1 and Feb 15, at least 16,000 cases died from the flu, 280,000 were hospitalized with flu and 29 million were sick with the flu.   I'm more concerned about the flu than COVID-19.

I agree with you I think they will try to let it run it’s course. Big but people are in cities now shut dow and if Trump does not shut cities and a lot die he will be blamed...not good in an election year. This is going to get interesting.

Officials here now saying this morning this may become a global pandemic. People expect to be protected.

Trump will be labeled as HEARTLESS if he lets t grandmas and grandpas die in droves. Just saying a lot of people hate him already. Just saying.

I'm not a Trump fan, but he did ask Congress for 2.5 billion dollars to fight Coronavirus.

You know I don't like him, but I can see him getting blaimed UNFAIRLY however it goes.

I can think of lots of things to blame him for. But the coronavirus is not one of them. If he quarrantines everyone, then he will be draconian, if he does not then he let it spread and now Grandpa/Grandma/Uncle Fred whoever is gone and he is to blame.

No president ever gets treated fairly; I sympathise with him on this one.
