As antibody testing seems to be slow in coming, Finland is to test Waste Water to get an idea of how widespread the Sars-Cov2 virus is.   Testing is similar that done to determine drug usage in different areas,

Finland is to start start sampling waste water in order to gather more data on community spread of the novel coronavirus.

The National Institute for Health and Welfare THL said on Tuesday that similar testing has been already carried out in parts of the United States and Australia. Those studies showed that genetic material of the coronavirus, its RNA, can be detected and identified in untreated sewage.

However, THL pointed out that RNA testing cannot reveal the viability of the virus or how contagious it is.

Sampling will be carried out at waste water facilities in several parts of the country on a weekly or monthly basis.

"While a regular coronavirus test shows if an individual is infected, the waste water study will show the level of contagion among the population in different localities," explained THL researcher Tarja Pitkänen.

Thanks!  The experience of SARS in 2003 is that the coronavirus is shed in feces, and can cause cases via sewage aerosol.

I contend that fecal/oral transmission through fomites, like with norovirus, is a significant route of infection for SARS-CoV2.  All the emphasis seems to be on aerosol transmission.

That's why China was pouring bleach down the sewers,I keep all my drains plugged.

"Atmospheric loading of coronaviruses in water droplets from wastewater is poorly understood but could provide a more direct respiratory route for human exposure, particularly at sewage pumping stations, wastewater treatment works and near waterways that are receiving wastewater."
