It looks like worldwide a third wave is developing!  This seems to be formed by the virus wrecking havoc at different times around the world.   Partly this reflects that S.America's big wave came much later than Europe's first wave (and so shows up as a second wave on the graphs).  So the current rises in Europe and North America in the second wave came after the rate in S. America started to slow, giving a third rise is worldwide cases etc.

It is interesting to compare hospitalization with deaths, and how deaths have followed a similar wave pattern to hospitalization but the second peak was not as high as the first.  It does seem lessons from the early months regarding treatment were learned, or that the second waves have had a higher porportion of younger people in hospital.
