From a photo essay about redheads

Quote Redheads are more common in northern latitudes as the gene adaptation allows for the absorption of vitamin D with little sunlight.

Does this mean that having ginger hair will add protection against covid-19 by allowing for more vit-D?

By extension should Scotland do better than the rest of the UK because of this genetic factor? [Or is the weather so bad that people stay indoors and so loose the effect of getting more vit-D?]

This does not effect me as my hair is what it politely called "salt and pepper".

My son is a true red head....carrot top with a red beard. I love it. I am a natural blonde.

That said, he plays on a beach volleyball team and has to wear HEAVY sunscreen otherwise he will get burnt just being out for 5 min. He covers himself from head to toe with that white stuff...doesn't care how it looks after being burnt so bad in the past.
