I've been saying this for months now.  Healthcare workers are heroes, but they're only human.

I have a close friend who is a volunteer EMT and he quit at the beginning of the pandemic. The week after he quit, a few of the people from his station got infected. One was in the hospital for weeks. Most of them recovered normally though. The one that was hospitalized was obese, smoker, etc.
