I live in Oklahoma.  We are currently  in blizzard  like  conditions.  Temp is 4 degrees,  wind chill  -16, have about  8 inches  of snow  so far. This  is day  2. Woke  up this morning to no electricity.  Very thankful  for our generator  that we bought a few months  ago. Electricity came back  on within  a few hours.  We have  been told to stay  off the  roads  until  Wednesday.

It was not quite so extreme for snow, but it did get to about -20*C here and the snow was over a foot after weeks of slow accumulation.

It is clearing now, but I can really sympathise, Penny!  My feet are still cold!

And that right there is why we live in Alaska; so we don't have to deal with crap like that!

Woke up this morning and it was -3 with a wind chill od -24, lol, definitely not used to this. I hate cold weather and snow. They started doing rolling blackouts today to conserve energy, because there is an energy overload. We get some of our electricity from wind turbines and they are frozen.

Each event like the cold spell (except for Carbon) is a good test for our preps.   I will need to keep working on my fire wood situation with smaller branches (wind falls?) for the kitchen stove.

We felled 140 large macrocarpa trees last week. That should keep us in firewood for a while.............

Now all we've got to do is slice it up, split it and stack it.
