Not a difficult prediction to make. According to the Worldometer data the number of deaths as of 31st December 2020 was over 1,829,000 and as of yesterday the total was 3,371,080, and increase of 84%. At the existing rate (assuming the Indian variant does not get out of control), then this year's deaths from covid will be about twice that of last year. For the USA there have been 245,099 deaths this year compared to 354,215 deaths last year, an increase of 69% (so better than the world average). At this rate (and I know the rates fluctuate) USA deaths with be 1½ times greater in 2021 than in 2020. |
The World Health Organization said it fears the death toll from the pandemic in 2021 will be even greater than in 2020.Posted By: carbon20
