You mean there are children in Florida? The portrait in the media is that it is only full of old people who go to retire there.
Actually it is horrendous how this round of covid-19 seems to be affecting younger and younger people.

From a link in the last post's link...
COVID-19 patients currently occupy 19% of ICU beds in the United States; in Florida, it's almost 44%. And only about 11% of the state's ICU beds are available, for the time being, compared with 26% nationwide. Florida has also seen a rise in cases among children with at least 135 of them hospitalized with COVID-19, as https://www.npr.org/2021/08/08/1025845668/a-florida-hospital-is-seeing-a-rise-in-covid-19-cases-in-children - NPR previously reported . | https://www.npr.org/sections/coronavirus-live-updates/2021/08/08/1025964502/florida-hospitals-covid-19-cases-record-high - https://www.npr.org/sections/coronavirus-live-updates/2021/08/08/1025964502/florida-hospitals-covid-19-cases-record-high

Florida has over 21 million residents, and 3,120,483 are children 2020 census. 371 Children hospitalized ????? .012% of children or less than .02% of population ............NOT deaths but hospitalizations....get a grip. I know for a fact hospitals are still doing elective surgery...the stats of available beds INCLUDE beds occupied by elective surgery recovery's...this is a fact. It is true some hospitals are canceling some elective surgeries to accommodate covid patients...just some. I have several clients right now, this week, going in for elective surgery....no cancellations for anyone in my sphere.

And those deaths INCLUDE underlying conditions, even lymphoma and cancer patient deaths of children! More children die in bicycle accident deaths in Florida than from covid.

You put an extra zero in there Pheasant. .012% or less than .02% To put it into perspective, about 1 out of every 10,000 children are in the hospital (for Covid) in Florida.
Using the numbers from the chart, children aged 0-14 are 0.04% of all children. Or 1 out of every 2,500 children are in the hospital for Covid in Florida. And this number is not at all right because it does not count the sick children aged 15-18.

Thank you, sorry I missed that. sorry to be cranky, just getting tired of the panic porn in the news.
I saw the 371 children in the hospital, and looked it up and was surprised to find 371 kids sick is such a tiny fraction of children in the state.

Perception is everything...
I see it as 371 children who would not be in the hospital....
