Anyone else seeing shelves not being restocked especially in pharmacies?

We’ve already decided we are going to have lasagna for Thanksgiving dinner. We can work it with our food storage and a pound of ground meat versus buying a Turkey. And we like lasagna better than Turkey, anyway!   

Those water jugs that have the spout keep disappearing. Also, cat litter keeps disappearing now too. (So no real consistent restock on either. Stores will say they have product in stock and actually don't)

Pharmacy/Medical supply wise: Compression socks on back order for weeks now (I need the medical grade kind, not the ones you can just get at a department store).

When I went shopping this week, I realized just how many things were out.  The store is doing a good job of keeping the shelves “full” (putting what they do have on the shelves so there are not obvious bare spots), but there were plenty of things that I could not get.  So far, it has been things like my daughter’s favorite flavor of snack bar, or a favorite brand of something.  I was able to make reasonable substitutions for everything, so much so that even though this has been going on for weeks I didn’t realize it at first.  Sure I can buy snack bars, and bacon, and chicken nuggets, just not the flavor or brand that I would like. 

I am worried that one day soon, the minor inconveniences will be major shortages.  My guess is that it will seem to happen overnight. This could be an interesting winter.  

I noticed for the first time that my local Costco did not have ANY of those large 20+lbs of rice. I didn’t notice the missing item 2 weeks ago, but yesterday, the entire area was gone and filled with other items. Early in 2020, it would get as low as 2-3 bags. Seems like approximately 2 months ago it was fully stocked, and often so that I quit paying attention, it’s been in the same spot for 5 years. Very weird. Smaller boxes of instant rice and small containers of rice blends. I almost always take a mental check of certain staples. Also low was the large bags of sugar.

I haven't noticed any shortages but I did stock up before the news started reporting shipping issues in a big way.  I tend to eat fresh anyway and the Northeast is pretty good about stocking local food.  I don't tend to eat pre-packaged or processed foods -- doctor's orders. 

I have had no problem filling my monthly prescriptions.  They're all pretty common and my pharmacist didn't say anything about a problem procuring items after her drug locker in the basement was destroyed by some flooding from the insane rains we got after Ada.  

That being said, I've noticed Amazon is limiting certain items like dish soap, toilet paper, etc... to one per order.  

I got two of my back ordered compression socks, but one is still back order. Got prescribed a (common?) med, which apparently the pharmacy ran out of? So now that has a delay. I've been having extended delays on every single medicine I've ordered this month, both new and refill.

Grocery stores- they're trying to fill empty space in stores around here, but I'm such a regular I can tell when things aren't where they're supposed to be or tell someone what aisle something is found in. I eat mostly fresh food too, when I do eat. Otherwise it's my nutrition supplement.

My pharmacy has been using baggies instead of plastic pill bottles due to shortage

Hasn't got to baggy level here yet, Usk. My medicine is still on delay. They keep telling me "tomorrow afternoon" and tomorrow afternoon still hasn't came yet. It's been a few days since it was originally supposed to be there. 🤔 Hopefully soon.
