Did the US attack Nordstream 1 and 2 ?

The USS Kearsarge (LHD-3) was near Bornholm when explosions caused major leaks in gaslines between Germany and Russia...https://diaspora.psyco.fr/posts/9062384 or https://diaspora.psyco.fr/posts/9062384 - https://diaspora.psyco.fr/posts/9062384

https://www.moonofalabama.org/2022/09/the-war-on-germany-just-entered-its-hot-phase.html or https://www.moonofalabama.org/2022/09/the-war-on-germany-just-entered-its-hot-phase.html - https://www.moonofalabama.org/2022/09/the-war-on-germany-just-entered-its-hot-phase.html biden stated the US would stop gas flowing to Germany if Russia invaded Ukraine....

"If Russia invades, that means tanks or troops crossing the -- the border of Ukraine again, then there will be -- there will be no longer a Nord Stream 2," Biden said during the press conference with Scholz, who did not go as far as Biden, but insisted the U.S. and Germany remain "absolutely united."

DJ...Die Linke (left wing) and AfD (right wing) (and increasing trade unions, industry) wanted the gas links to be reopened...

https://www.zerohedge.com/commodities/damage-nord-stream-pipelines-unprecedented-may-have-been-sabotaged or https://www.zerohedge.com/commodities/damage-nord-stream-pipelines-unprecedented-may-have-been-sabotaged - https://www.zerohedge.com/commodities/damage-nord-stream-pipelines-unprecedented-may-have-been-sabotaged

DJ-The US provoked war in Ukraine is running out of support in Europe...If the US attacks our gaslines the US may "no longer be welcomed by many" in Europe...

https://halturnerradioshow.com/index.php/en/news-page/world/covert-intel-urgent-russian-gas-pipelines-to-germany-blown-up or https://halturnerradioshow.com/index.php/en/news-page/world/covert-intel-urgent-russian-gas-pipelines-to-germany-blown-up - https://halturnerradioshow.com/index.php/en/news-page/world/covert-intel-urgent-russian-gas-pipelines-to-germany-blown-up ;

If this is true, it was almost certainly sabotage perpetrated by the US. And it could very well be interpreted by the Russians as an act of war.

Most likely because they knew the Germans were thinking long and hard about opening the line before winter sets in.

Want clear indication this was U.S. sabotage?   Listen to Joe Biden from July 2, 2022 saying "There will be no Nordstream 2, we will bring an end to it."

Again, most Europeans are totally fed up by US wars...bringing Europe first a refugee-crisis, now economic destruction...The European political elite may still stick to the "Atlantic idea"...Sweden, Italy are clear indicators most Europeans are not...In France a coalition from right-and left of macron could have ended macron...scholtz-in Germany is now facing a major crisis...https://www.dw.com/en/mysterious-leaks-hit-nord-stream-pipelines-linking-russia-and-germany/a-63251217 or https://www.dw.com/en/mysterious-leaks-hit-nord-stream-pipelines-linking-russia-and-germany/a-63251217 - https://www.dw.com/en/mysterious-leaks-hit-nord-stream-pipelines-linking-russia-and-germany/a-63251217 ;

Both of the pipelines were built to carry natural gas from Russia to Europe, although the https://www.dw.com/en/nord-stream-2-fdp-lawmaker-slammed-for-suggestion-to-open-pipeline/a-62866955" style="color: rgb(0, 135, 235); text-decoration: none; - Nord Stream 2 pipeline was never activated.

German officials have not yet provided any information on the possible cause of the damage. However, Berlin's Tagesspiegel newspaper cited German security circles saying that sabotage was strongly suspected. "Our imagination no longer allows for a scenario in which this is not a targeted attack," the newspaper quoted its source as saying.

DJ, I expect a "German (public) reaction"

https://southfront.org/us-ships-suspected-of-sabotage-attack-on-nord-stream-pipelines/ or https://southfront.org/us-ships-suspected-of-sabotage-attack-on-nord-stream-pipelines/ - https://southfront.org/us-ships-suspected-of-sabotage-attack-on-nord-stream-pipelines/ ;

Der Tagesspiegel reported, citing sources related to the investigation of the incidents, that the cause of the incident could be sabotage.

“We cannot imagine a scenario that is not a targeted sabotage,” the publication quotes one of the participants in the investigation, which is being conducted by the federal authorities.

It is reasonably suspected that the pipeline was blown up by the special services of the United States in order to finally stop the gas supplies to Germany from Russia.

You really are clueless as to what's happening in the real world. Another victim of the pandemic....

I wonder if the Russians blew it up? It's too coincidental that 3 explosions would happen all at the same time.

So how did they do it? Well I was thinking about this and if I were a Russian and wanting to blow up that pipeline, I would put a small bomb in the pipe with a tracker on it, or a timer, and then wait for it to get to my desired location and then detonate. Afterall, a pipeline offers the perfect delivery mechanism.

It is clear someone did attack those pipelines...there is a lot of blame-game...Another point is who will blame who...mainstream will deny the US could have done it...but both left and right of "mainstream" know for certain the US must have done it...(DJ, and others could be playing with it...).

Timing-there may have been a Saudi peace initiative-possibly backed by the Minsk-countries (France, Germany) and the "referendum" with the pro-Russian vote-as expected-winning...Maybe there are talks with "some groups" in Ukraine...no longer with zelensky...

The US may have to prove it played no role...but even that may not convince all...

-"Ian" left Cuba without power-is a major risk to Florida. Wind up to 250 km/h, extreme rain will result in flooding. Waterborne diseases, refugees spreading disease, waste water problems may be longer term issues.

DJ-One of my questions is how many (major) hurricanes the US can deal with ?  NL would be very severely hit if a major hurricane managed to reach us. The chance for that still small but it is increasing...Of course a (Fukushima like) nuclear disaster is major...but also destruction of large parts of infrastructure ((rail)roads, power/water, cable, buildings (hospitals, schools etc.) all gone could be major...Chemical (biological) waste is a nightmare....

The most deathly bombardment Japan had in 1945 was the fire bombing of Tokyo, NOT the Hirosjima, Nagasaki nuclear attacks (in my view to stop the Soviet Union). A non-nuclear major disaster still can be worse then a nuclear one...

DJ-The explosions were in a NATO controlled part of the Baltic Sea...A possible scenario-not involving explosives-may be over pressure. Russia claimed there were turbine problems (Siemens in Canada had to repare turbines)...So could it be technical ?

Still some will put blame-for political reasons-on "a party"...That can get its own dynamics...certainly with a major economic crisis developing in Europe.

Written by Piero Messina

They are wrong in Kremlin if anyone thinks that Italy will become the EU’s weak link vis-à-vis Russia. The center-right coalition won in the elections on 25 September. A success far beyond the expectations of Giorgia Meloni, the right-wing passionate who grew up in the myth of “good” fascism and Tolkien as a natural leader. The center-right that is about to govern Italy is made up of three different political groups. The real winner of the dispute is the “Fratelli d’Italia”, the party founded a little over ten years ago by Giorgia Meloni, Ignazio La Russa and Guido Crosetto. Heirs of the post-fascist tradition, the women and men led by Meloni have always been on the margins of society. They are the heirs of the tradition of the Italian Social Movement, the party that was liquidated in the mid-nineties after Mussolini’s rejection of nostalgia.

Longside Meloni there will be Matteo Salvini of the Lega and Silvio Berlusconi, senior leader of Forza Italia. Only Salvini, in the recent past, has claimed a different position with respect to Russia, calling for the abolition of sanctions as they damage the Italian economy. Even Berlusconi – an old friend of Russian President Vladimir Putin, when the Russian president was praised by the Western chancelleries – sometimes seems to regret that past. A few days before the elections, host of a talk show on the main Italian television channel, Berlusconi made Western diplomacy tremble, justifying the work of the Russian president: “The Russian troops had to enter and in a week replace the Zelenksy government with people for good and go back “. The concept of replacing Zelensky with “decent people” has infuriated Washington and Italy’s Western allies.

-

With such travel friends therefore, Giorgia Meloni had understood from the beginning of the electoral campaign the need to erase any Russian shadow on her past. Interview from British and US broadcasters, the next Italian prime minister has sworn allegiance to NATO, guaranteed support for sanctions against Russia and confirmed that Italy will remain at the forefront of supplying arms to the Kiev government. A nice disappointment for those who imagined a new course that was not flattened on the Atlantic line dogma. Moscow was not entirely wrong in imagining a change of course for the Italian government. Giorgia Meloni was already in government, in 2011, when the head of the Italian government was Silvio Berlusconi. At the helm of the Brothers of Italy for over ten years, from 2014 onwards Meloni had always contested sanctions against Russia and had stood out for an anti-euro and anti-Europe political line. Today everything has changed. Because, as an old Italian sage recalls, power wears out those who don’t have it. And after thirty years spent in opposition, Giorgia Meloni and her traveling companions want everything and they want it immediately. Even denying their past.

DJ, Again a worsening socio-economic situation is "moving mountains" in Europe...we have to learn wich way...

On the pipeline (Nordstream 1 and 2) story..lots of discussion https://www.moonofalabama.org/2022/09/whodunnit-facts-related-to-the-sabotage-attack-on-the-nord-stream-pipelines.html or https://www.moonofalabama.org/2022/09/whodunnit-facts-related-to-the-sabotage-attack-on-the-nord-stream-pipelines.html - https://www.moonofalabama.org/2022/09/whodunnit-facts-related-to-the-sabotage-attack-on-the-nord-stream-pipelines.html and https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/15-things-we-know-about-mysterious-explosions-severely-damaged-nord-stream-1-and-2 or https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/15-things-we-know-about-mysterious-explosions-severely-damaged-nord-stream-1-and-2 - https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/15-things-we-know-about-mysterious-explosions-severely-damaged-nord-stream-1-and-2 ...

So the idea is that explosions damaging 3 out of 4 pipelines would be in the interest of Ukraine...UK/US and Poland were against Russian-German trade...Alexander Mercouris/AM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ju2Ggsvjbg or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ju2Ggsvjbg - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ju2Ggsvjbg doubr Poland would sabotage the pipelines-Poland is in between Germany and Russia/Belarus...not the best position...

AM also mentioning a "western investigation team" very likely will have the goal to put the blame on Russia...

DJ-Some good points against a claim the US/UK were behind sabotage; Germany gets even more in a corner...may be pressed more-with France, Saudi Arabia for talks with Russia...I do not think Russia blew up its multi billion dollar (multi-multi billion Ruble) pipelines on purpose...there were easier ways for them (on land) to do that kind of action...

https://halturnerradioshow.com/index.php/en/news-page/world/covert-intel-another-gas-pipeline-blown-up or https://halturnerradioshow.com/index.php/en/news-page/world/covert-intel-another-gas-pipeline-blown-up - https://halturnerradioshow.com/index.php/en/news-page/world/covert-intel-another-gas-pipeline-blown-up A pipeline side link from a main pipeline from Russia to Romania-the side link goes to Crimea-has been blown up In Ukraine...https://liveuamap.com/en/2022/28-september-big-fire-reportedly-at-brylivka-of-kherson-region or https://liveuamap.com/en/2022/28-september-big-fire-reportedly-at-brylivka-of-kherson-region - https://liveuamap.com/en/2022/28-september-big-fire-reportedly-at-brylivka-of-kherson-region (unclear if it was in Russian or Ukraine held part).

DJ-So maybe the US and/or UK (with a Polish role) are trying to destroy Russian pipelines to Europe? While Europe is moving away from the US/UK hard line escalation strategy...sinking into a very major energy crisis...There is not yet enough capacity in ports for LNG (from where ever)...the Ukraine-NATO expansion-war did bring the EU between 7 and 10 million extra refugees (with sort of EU status-in a much better legal position then other refugees. Ukrainians are allowed to work in the EU-and most of them do want to work here. Other refugees are NOT allowed to wotk here-need to wait for a refugee status, integration programs (they have to pay for themselves), housing...taking a very long frustrating, demotivating time).

So pushing the EU (and UK) deeper into an energy crisis is NOT increasing support in the EU (or UK) for "more war(s)"...Since Europe has an electricity network we may get power from Hungary, Türkiye-still using Russian imported energy, Russia is getting very high prices for less energy export (St. Petersburg area has more people then all of Finland...If I am correct Finland did get a lot of electricity from Russia...they are very anti Russian but may run out of alternatives...).

-No links; I believe it was "Redacted"; In the four Ukraine regions now joining Russia the older generation may have still some "(n)ostalgia" (ost=east in German) ...the 40+ age groups have memories of the Soviet Union...DJ-In those four regions pro-Ukraine citizens did flee...younger men are in the army...so the "referenda" are not very "strong points"...

But also in Russia itself older generations-and most outside major cities-are very likely pro-Putin...Younger generations do get western social media etc. Independent polls indicate Putin may have support of 80%+ of the Russian population...Even if you would take it with "grains of salt" biden, macron, truss, scholtz, rutte are running out of public support...

-Storms;

"Noru" is moving into norther Thailand via Vietnam...https://www.tropicaltidbits.com/storminfo/#18W or https://www.tropicaltidbits.com/storminfo/#18W - https://www.tropicaltidbits.com/storminfo/#18W   Of course in the US-Florida is hit very hard by "Ian" with waves 3meter +, lots of wind and rain..."Ian" soon will be above warm Atlantic waters and then return over the US South Carolina-moving north till the weekend...https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/refresh/graphics_at4+shtml/035748.shtml?ero#contents or https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/refresh/graphics_at4+shtml/035748.shtml?ero#contents - https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/refresh/graphics_at4+shtml/035748.shtml?ero#contents may even influence D.C. weather...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2022_Atlantic_hurricane_season or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2022_Atlantic_hurricane_season - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2022_Atlantic_hurricane_season there were much more storms expected this year...Also Europe -with warm Atlantic waters- is running an increased risk of hurricane strong storms..."Fiona" is now moving in Arctic waters...south of Iceland, east of Greenland pumping warm water/air north...https://www.ventusky.com/?p=60.1;-38.2;4&l=temperature-2m or https://www.ventusky.com/?p=60.1;-38.2;4&l=temperature-2m - https://www.ventusky.com/?p=60.1;-38.2;4&l=temperature-2m ....

Wind erosion, blowing snow away, eroding ice, has been a factor in Antarctica...open rock does not reflect sun-heat...Warm ocean water, rain does increase the speed with wich glaciers move into the Oceans...(with large pieces of ice dropping into the ocean causing mini-tsunami's).

-Wars;

Redacted mentioned a Russian/Chinese navy drill close to Alaska ? If Russia gets the idea pipelines are under attack it may secure the energy flow into India, China...(Caspian Sea Russia-Iran-India route is also a weak spot). Russia is shifting its energy-deals towards Asia...away from Europe...but those energy deals are major, strategic...Russia-Iran-China will NOT accept any attacks on them...If Russia believes "a western power" is attacking Russian pipelines...Russia-Iran-China are able to react...lots of (Trans Atlantic) "lines of communication"  (US-UK) are impossible to be fully protected...

Russia -I think-may go for high speed integration of the four Ukraine regions "that voted for inclusion into Russia". Regular Russian Army will release more pro-Russian fighters to frontlines...Belarus is believed to be preparing (like in february) for major Russian train/road transports...Military Summary claimed "Ukraine working on nuclear weapons" ???? Ukraine is in a major offensive in NE Ukraine...gaining limited ground on very high costs (Ukraine losses per day now over 1500 soldiers ???)

DJ-I am running out of time to follow all developments...Trying to give my view, opinion...proberbly even "intel" may be overrun...

DJ; some reactions; As a Russian from Saint Petersburg I am definitely down for this. After all, Dutch people helped us build our river channels so that we won't be flooded every summer. And, what is more, Peter the Great was trying to build "New Amsterdam" in Russia, and I strongly believe that after the fact that Brits stole your new Amsterdam and renamed it, New York, you gotta fight for at least one of New Amsterdam's:) Make Netherlands great again :))

PRESIDENT BIDEN:  We will — I promise you, we’ll be able to do it.

He had promised to cause permanently the end of Nord Stream if Russia invaded, which it did on February 24th. He fulfilled on that promise on September 27th.

It is reasonably suspected that the pipeline was blown up by the special services of the United States in order to finally stop the gas supplies to Germany from Russia.

On September 27, a detachment of warships led by the US amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge reported on the completion of their tasks in the area of the alleged sabotage in the Baltic Sea and headed for the North Sea.

Since the beginning of September, suspicious activity by anti-submarine helicopters of the US Navy has been observed in the area. In the last few days, reconnaissance activities of NATO aircraft have significantly intensified in the Baltic Sea area. In particular, a US Boeing E-3 Sentry reconnaissance aircraft was on constant patrol over the Baltic States, and a US Joint STARS was spotted over Germany and Poland.

"There are two leaks on the Swedish side and two leaks on the Danish side," a Swedish Coast Guard official told reporters.

The fourth leak was on the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, close by a larger hole found on the neighboring Nord Stream 1, the official said.

The report came after three leaks in the pipelines were found near the Danish island of Bornholm following several explosions that were recorded by seismologists.

The sabotage of the Nord Stream (NS) and Nord Stream 2 (NS2) pipelines in the Baltic Sea has ominously propelled ‘Disaster Capitalism’ to a whole new, toxic level.

This episode of Hybrid Industrial/Commercial War, in the form of a terror attack against energy infrastructure in international waters signals the absolute collapse of international law, drowned by a “our way or the highway”, “rules-based”, order.

The attack on both pipelines consisted of multiple explosive charges detonated in separate branches close to the Danish island of Bornholm, but in international waters.

That was a sophisticated operation, carried out in stealth in the shallow depth of the Danish straits. That would in principle rule out submarines (ships entering the Baltic are limited to a draught of 15 meters). As for prospective “invisible” vessels, these could only loiter around with permission from Copenhagen – as the waters around Borholm are crammed with sensors, reflecting fear of incursion by Russian submarines.

All the devils are here

Now it’s painfully clear the imperial velvet gloves are off when it comes to the vassals. EU independence: verboten. Cooperation with China: verboten. Independent trade connectivity with Asia: verboten. The only place for the EU is to be economically subjugated to the US: a tawdry remix of 1945-1955. With a perverse neoliberal twist: we will own your industrial capacity, and you will have nothing.

The sabotage of NS and NS2 is inbuilt in the imperial wet dream of breaking up the Eurasian land mass into a thousand pieces to prevent a trans-Eurasia consolidation between Germany (representing the EU), Russia and China: $50 trillion in GDP, based on purchasing power parity (PPP) compared to the US’s $20 trillion.

We must go back to Mackinder: control of the Eurasian land mass constitutes control of the world. American elites and their Trojan Horses across Europe will do whatever it takes not to give up their control.

“American elites” in this context encompass the deranged, Straussian neo-con-infested “intel community” and the Big Energy, Big Pharma and Big Finance that pays them and who profits not only from the Deep State’s Forever War approach but also wants to make a killing out of the Davos-concocted Great Reset.

The Raging Twenties started with a murder – of Gen Soleimani. Blowing up pipelines is part of the sequel. There will be a highway to hell all the way to 2030. Yet to borrow from Shakespeare, hell is definitely empty, and all the (Atlanticist) devils are here.

Based on all that rubbish from sources that have been 90% wrong since the start of russia's illegal invasion, it looks like russia is crumbling faster than most thought. With battle field defeats growing, the mobilization disaster, sham referendums that no one in the world recognizes, and internal turmoil taking it's toll, Putin is now backed into a corner. His only option now is to push the button, which will lead to his death. And as predicted the vultures feeding off the rotten carcass, TIP, PRIC and DICK will only increase the feeding frenzy. Even are own delusional poster has now resorted to claiming funny memes are reality, turn off your computer son, your done....

According to SPIEGEL information, it was calculated that explosive devices with an effect comparable to that of 500 kilograms of TNT must have been used to destroy the tubes. The seismic signals registered by various measuring stations were also included in the estimate.

The previously unknown estimates support the assumption that only a state actor can be behind the action. So far, the federal government has held back with speculation about the background to the interruption of the pipelines.

Conclusion

In 1939, quite infamously, Winston Churchill expressed his extraordinary ethnocentric ignorance by calling Russia ‘a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma’. Like many ignorant people, he was of course talking about himself. When you cannot be bothered to understand someone else’s viewpoint, just call it ‘a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma’. You will then have successfully defined yourself as a blinkered and selfish narcissist. The only thing is, when you depend on that someone else for vital gas, oil, fertiliser, wheat, paper, titanium etc, maybe you really should after all make an effort to understand their viewpoint. Otherwise, they will definitely consider your death-wish, the totally suicidal behaviour of your American Roulette as, ‘a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma’.

They will be signed with all 4 territories where referendums were held. President Vladimir Putin will give a voluminous speech tomorrow."

UNVERIFIED information from non-Kremlin sources about the Putin speech claim that he will ALLEGEDLY tell the world:

. . . the undermining of the Nord Stream gas pipelines radically changes the geopolitical alignment. The obvious military sabotage of Western intelligence services against Russia, forces the Russia to take retaliatory measures.

Europe is a military ally of Ukraine. Ammunition, howitzers, heavy equipment, tanks, and even combat aircraft, are coming to Ukraine from the EU every day! Despite this, Russia continues to pump gas there, heating the homes of Europeans and ensuring the work of virtually the entire economy, and at this time European shells are bombing Donetsk. After the annexation of new territories, this will come to an end!

Russia will ALLEGEDLY also announce that:

. . . if the EU does not stop military support for Ukraine within 48 hours, there will be an instant shutdown of the gas supply to 100% of European consumers. After that, the Ukrainian Gas Transfer System (GTS) will be destroyed and the supply of oil and gas through the territory of Belarus will be turned off.

But why have incidents that are "in no-one's interest" happened again and again? This deserves serious consideration by the international community.

The ill-fated destiny of Nord Stream 2 pipeline itself explains quite a few issues. The major, mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation program between Russia and the EU, has met firm opposition from the US since day one. From repeated verbal threats to many rounds of sanctions, the US has shown its firm stance - it won't stop until it messes up the Nord Stream 2.

After the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Nord Stream 2, a cooperation project that is actually beneficial to European people's livelihood, was on the verge of bankruptcy under the multiple pressure of hegemonism, geopolitical calculations, and security dilemmas. This deliberate sabotage has snuffed out the possibility of its revival.

“As Iran continues to accelerate its nuclear program in violation of the JCPOA, we will continue to accelerate our enforcement of sanctions on Iran’s petroleum and petrochemical sales under authorities that would be removed under the JCPOA,” Blinken said, using the acronym for the formal name of the nuclear deal: the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.

“These enforcement actions will continue on a regular basis, with an aim to severely restrict Iran’s oil and petrochemical exports,” he said. “Anyone involved in facilitating these illegal sales and transactions should cease and desist immediately if they wish to avoid U.S. sanctions.”

Thursday’s State Department sanctions hit China-based “Zhonggu Storage and Transportation Co. The Treasury Department also targeted other entities based in Hong Kong, Iran, India, and the United Arab Emirates.

The department noted that the sanctions “are reversible in the event of Iran’s return to JCPOA compliance.”

However, US and European officials have voiced pessimism over the prospects of a return to the deal, from which the US withdrew in 2018. Iran has increasingly breached its commitments under the agreement and grown its nuclear program.

On Sunday, Blinken told CBS’ “60 Minutes” that he does not “see any prospects in the very near term” to bring about a return to the Iran nuclear deal.

Grief, protest and power: Why Iranian women are cutting their hair

“Iran has continued to try to add extraneous issues to the negotiation that we’re simply not going to say yes to,” he said.

“We will not accept a bad deal, the response that they’ve given to the last proposals put forward by our European partners have been a very significant step backwards,” Blinken said.

In addition to the nuclear deal related sanctions, last week, the administration sanctioned Iran’s Morality Policy following the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini in their custody.

In a statement, the US Treasury Department said it was sanctioning the morality police “for abuse and violence against Iranian women and the violation of the rights of peaceful Iranian protestors.”

Of course the biden-war against 'the rest" , the NATO expansion war in Ukraine did bring hyperinflation...https://nltimes.nl/2022/09/30/ministers-call-171-inflation-rate-terrible-extreme or https://nltimes.nl/2022/09/30/ministers-call-171-inflation-rate-terrible-extreme - https://nltimes.nl/2022/09/30/ministers-call-171-inflation-rate-terrible-extreme ...printing more dollars, euro's, pounds, yen only will make matters worse..increase inflation...

The US attacks on Nordstream pipelines did increase European vulnerability in energy needs further...The only way out of this crisis left is European countries going for (indirect) talks with Russia...There are still lots of other pipelines able to transport Russian oil and gas to Europe (EU and UK...the UK is NOT out of the European energy system...).

There are more stories of high Ukraine military meeting with Russian military/diplomats...the western puppet zelensky has no support left in Ukraine...Most "western leaders" are out of support in their own countries...https://www.moonofalabama.org/2022/09/liz-truss-is-already-the-bad-prime-minister-everyone-expected-her-to-be.html or https://www.moonofalabama.org/2022/09/liz-truss-is-already-the-bad-prime-minister-everyone-expected-her-to-be.html - https://www.moonofalabama.org/2022/09/liz-truss-is-already-the-bad-prime-minister-everyone-expected-her-to-be.html

Still those "western leaders" now try to sell the lie of Russia attacking their own pipelines...so "NATO has to react"...Will NATO now start talks of including Ukraine ? It would be a complete show of stupidity and insanity....

And almost as quickly the finger-pointing began, with many in the West alleging that Russia had intentionally damaged its own pipeline while others claimed that a more logical explanation would pin the blame on the U.S., likely acting to eliminate any possibility that European countries will revert to relying on Russia as a source of gas. Jimmy and his panel of The Dive’s Jackson Hinkle and America’s comedian Kurt Metzger discuss the competing theories and possible motives behind the Nordstream attacks.

DJ...Let me be clear; the picture I get from Moscow/Putin remind me more and more of stalin...Iran still is not a "nice country" even with the western backed shah dictatorship being replaced by religious dictatorship...China did make progress in its fight against poverty...managed to keep CoViD limited...but is NOT a "free country"....

The outcome of were "western leaders" did bring us is weakening democracy...Alexander Mercouris named the referendum days as "quiet for the storm" ...so now brace for the storm...Maybe some "secret talks" can limit the damage....

Powerful voices are blaming Russia.  According to the https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2022/09/27/nord-stream-gas-pipelines-damage-russia/" style="background: transparent; font-size: inherit !important; - Washington Post , which frequently serves as an outlet for the Intelligence Community:

Five European officials with direct knowledge of security discussions said there was a widespread assumption that Russia was behind the incident. Only Russia had the motivation, the submersible equipment and the capability, several of them said, though they cautioned that they did not yet have direct evidence of Russia's involvement.

"No one on the European side of the ocean is thinking this is anything other than Russian sabotage," said a senior European environmental official, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss internal thinking about the leak.

One official said it might have been a message to NATO: "We are close." Another said that it could be a threat to other, non-Russian energy infrastructure, since so many pipelines crisscross the Baltic Sea, including the one inaugurated Tuesday. A third noted that crucial internet data cables lie along the bottom of the sea, and there have been long-standing concerns that Russia has a submersible program that could cut them, causing communications chaos around the world.

But why would Russia want to preclude its ability to use the pipelines for leverage, threatening to further reduce — or increase — its delivery of natural gas?  Russia could always cut deliveries without damaging the pipeline, after all, and maintain the ability to reward behavior it wants by increasing the delivery of gas.  The explosions remove that lever from Putin's grasp.

Turkey has rejected Russia’s annexation of Ukraine on Saturday, calling the decision a “grave violation” of international law.

The foreign ministry said it had not recognised Russia’s annexation of Crimea in 2014, adding that it reject’s Russia’s decision to annex Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia, Reuters reports.

This decision, which constitutes a grave violation of the established principles of international law, cannot be accepted. We reiterate our support to the resolution of this war, the severity of which keeps growing, based on a just peace that will be reached through negotiations.

The Ministry of Defence said Russia’s expansion strategy has resulted in “killing civilians it now claims are its own citizens.”

The latest intelligence update published Saturday morning, comes after Putin signed annexation agreements across four occupied regions in Ukraine, marking the largest forcible takeover of territory in Europe since the second world war.

The MoD said Russia is expending “strategically valuable military assets” in attempts to gain tactical advantage. It added, Russia “almost certainly” struck a convoy outside the town of Zaporizhzhia on Friday, where local media reported 25 civilians killed, and more than 50 injured.

The kill numbers should rise exponentially in the coming days....

Ukraine has encircled Russia’s forces around a bastion that is critical for Moscow at the eastern town of Lyman, in an operation that is still under way, a Ukrainian military spokesperson said on Saturday.

Russia’s forces at Lyman totalled around 5,000 to 5,500 soldiers, but the number of encircled troops may have fallen because of casualties and some soldiers trying to break out of the encirclement, said Serhii Cherevatyi, spokesperson for Ukraine’s eastern forces, according to Reuters.

ksc,

I would love it if you could come up with any proof the US was NOT behind attacks on Nordstream...I admit-there is NO direct proof, however all indirect proof points to the US...The US had both motives and means (under water drones able to place very heavy mines...only a few countries are able to do that...Maybe even the UK, France do NOT have under-water-drones able to handle that heavy mines...).

Valves make the over-pressure "Russia did it" scenario very unlikely...Western propaganda (billionaire owned cnn, reuters...in fact most media are owned by the military industrial complex; news-for-sale...) is not spreading on a large scale "Russia did it" on North/Nord-stream because it simply makes no sense...

There may be some discussion on "did European partners" know of the US attack...very likely (like the US getting out of Afghanistan in 2021) the answer is NO...

European politicians-for-sale now find themselves in an impossible position...The public simply do no longer go for "blame Putin"....So a lot of those leaders need to find a way out (to survive...literally...). Printing extra tens-of-billions only will increase risk of hyperinflation...

The European economy is collapsing due to high energy costs...you simply can not make any profits with energy costs this exreme. Within weeks this will affect super markets...running out of products...It is that bad in most of Europe...NL is "doing better" because of our ports, trade, limited Russian energy imports...but even NL is sinking into "very major problems" high speed....

Land-routes linking Russia with Europe can be repaired...Europe has NO other option than talks with Russia....

Increase of US-LNG is already at maximum port-capacity...LNG is another product then oil/gas via pipelines...

DJ-I would LOVE the EU/UK not being that dependent on Russian energy...France tried it with nuclear power-however Russia is also a main supplier of uranium...(also to the US...uranium is not sanctioned...). NL this summer doing even better then Spain in solar power is very welcome...Renewable energy is a major factor in several EU countries...but NOT (yet) enough to fully replace foreign (de facto Russian) imports...

Extremists do gain support by "main stream politics" sticking to "support Ukraine"....Redacted-another US source-had a link to German Auf1...a German TV station with AfD links...(right wing German party...).

There may be growing pressure in Germany-and other countries-to "declare war on the US" for attacks on Northstream...

In combinition with pandemics and climate disasters Europe is facing society-collapse...the US will be next...civil wars may become a real scenario...We have to get away from such insanity...

It's tough to find proof of something that didn't happen. We'll never know who did it, but the message has been sent to the party that didn't do it. Putin was going to shut those pipes down anyway so it's probably for the best that they are now gone forever. Hopefully we'll see some more russian pipes "rupture" in the future. As I said months ago, russia is nothing more than a cheap gas station...

ksc...The northstream explosions DID happen....as far as I know no one is claiming it as an accident any longer...

One of the outcomes of the sanctions on Russia is Russia did increase refinnary, so now Russia is producing more diesel, kerosine...It also has "high tech weapons", hypersonic...https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sputnik_V_COVID-19_vaccine or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sputnik_V_COVID-19_vaccine - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sputnik_V_COVID-19_vaccine made by https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gamaleya_Research_Institute_of_Epidemiology_and_Microbiology or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gamaleya_Research_Institute_of_Epidemiology_and_Microbiology - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gamaleya_Research_Institute_of_Epidemiology_and_Microbiology founded in 1891...czars still ruling Russia...https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serfdom_in_Russia or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serfdom_in_Russia - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serfdom_in_Russia may be a factor in Russia still today...

DJ-Just like the "lab-leak" claim on CoViD, who was behind the northstream explosions is of "limited interest"...how to deal with it should be major...

-I expect power cuts in most of Europe...mass bankruptcy...social unrest...

-but also-with very high energy prices- more innovations...https://nedstack.com/en/newsroom or https://nedstack.com/en/newsroom - https://nedstack.com/en/newsroom

-There are lots of plans for more solar/wind power in NL...laws may increase speed for those projects often now facing protests from people living near it..

-One of the problems of fossil fuels is banks only see a limited future for them-so financing more LNG infrastructure, or increase fracking-may be limited...

-"hard style government" -more police-to enforce changes/limit protests...

I think "we" in Europe may survive being cut of from Russian energy...However (civil) wars, pandemics will get a lot worse...

Russia very likely will be able to replace the European energy market with the Asia/Africa market...Maybe Russia-Iran-China are not "the worst" dictatorships in the world (I think a.o. Saudi Arabia-royal family of 20,000 owned, North Korea are worse) but they-in my opinion are "dictatorships"...The outcome of this "west-rest conflict" is RIC-position is getting stronger...

Again-NOT making democracy stronger...

Russia is preparing to send in lots more military into Ukraine-first job no doubt will be to get control over the four regions now "new part of Russia" (they were Russian till Lenin decided to put it with a new formed Ukraine S.S.R. ). There is NO NATO unity on Ukraine joining NATO now...

Outlook is very dark...no doubt lots of "secret diplomacy" in lots of places (UN-New York, Riyad/Istanbul, China...) further escalation may even go against US idea's...

You posed this silly question, "come up with any proof the US was NOT behind attacks on Nordstream"

Like I said, we'll never know....

With the russian "mobilization, the kills will rise exponentially. There's some good stuff heading to Ukraine in the near future (or already there).

Ukraine received new rockets for HIMARS/M270- here we can see a pod of M30A1 guided rockets. M30A1 differs from previously seen M31A1/A2 by an alternative warhead with 182000 preformed spheroid steel/tungsten fragments and is designed to be used against soft targets.

ksc, YES...the "west" can keep sending more supplies/training to Ukraine...If you want to go for "Ukraine is winning" no doubt Russia will not be able to include four more oblasts/regions into Russia like they did with Crimea...

I think the US want to avoid an open US-Russia war...proberbly at ALL !!! costs...There is a limit in escalation scenario's...

"The west" could go for more sanctions on "the rest"....but I doubt if there is much support for sanctions on India...(economic growth expected to be 7,5% this year-in part because of Russia-India trade). OPEC+ countries-more or less-side with Russia...so if Europe wants alternatives for Russian energy they need some compromise with OPEC members...

IF The US led "west" would go for an all-out war against Russia (the rest will follow...) it may be a very short war...Even hard-line neo-con/neo-"liberals" may not want to go that far...

So-I hope-at some places "wise people" try to find a way out of this disaster...You can talk...or you can fight-then talk...In a global nuclear war "fighting is mass self destruction"...with no talks left...

The US trade with India dwarfs that of russias. I doubt anyone in the world would assist russia in a conflict with the best. russia has had to deal with other terrorist states to get a few drones and antiquated ammunition. Both Iran and N. Korea deny supplying these munitions. Do you know why? I do...

Samarkand: Trade turnover between India and Russia has soared nearly 120% so far this year, according to Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov.

“Our relations are actively developing, the trade has also increased significantly with supplies of Russian oil, coal and fertilizers increasing,” the Ushakov told journalists ahead of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting in the Uzbek city of Samarkand on September 15-16.

It is recalled that Trump in April called for Russia and Ukraine to “figure out” a solution, saying that the two countries should negotiate peace “now — not later — when everyone will be DEAD!”. That same month, a 2019 clip surfaced of Trump suggesting to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that he “get together” with Putin to solve their “problem”. Trump even called Putin “smart” for supposedly playing President Joe Biden “like a drum.”

Although Trump’s offer to mediate a peace deal led to the usual Democrat accusation that he is a Russian asset, it is remembered that Russia annexed Crimea during the presidency of Barack Obama, and will now unify with Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporozhye under Biden’s watch. Effectively, no internationally recognised Ukrainian territory unified with Russia during Trump’s presidency, thus mocking the claim that the former president is a Russian asset.

None-the-less, it is obvious that the Biden administration will not call upon Trump to find peace as there is a very evident goal of prolonging the war for as long as possible, something the Kiev regime is more than happy to do.

In addition, it was only announced on September 29 that the US economy shrank by 0.6% during the second quarter of the year, according to the latest gross domestic product estimate from the Bureau of Economic Analysis. This effectively means that the US is in recession.

Prolonged war in Ukraine, with no end in sight and an economy in decline, is making many Americans regret voting Trump out. It is for this reason that the Biden administration will never call upon Trump to overcome the Russian-Ukrainian impasse to find peace as it will essentially secure his re-election if he decides to run in 2024.

DJ...I am NOT a trump fan (Bernie Sanders, Tulsi Gabbard make more sense for me...) but -way things are going- I think trump may have a chance for a second presidency...(further dividing the US...).

"Prolonging the war" lol!

Propaganda outfits like southfront will spin everything from Putins twisted point of view. No one wants to prolong the war, the vast majority of the world wants Putin to take his battered troops and go home. Not one country in the UN voted in russias favor.

Trump has a far better chance of going to jail than ever becoming president again. Putins only chance is to divide NATO that's why his puppets are hard at work, it just isn't going to happen. russia's now insignificant in the world order as Putin is embarrassed almost daily now.

DJ,

Who are at present in the UNSC-security council ? https://www.un.org/securitycouncil/content/current-members or https://www.un.org/securitycouncil/content/current-members - https://www.un.org/securitycouncil/content/current-members

PERMANENT AND NON-PERMANENT MEMBERS

The Council is composed of 15 Members:

Five permanent members:  http://un.china-mission.gov.cn/eng/" style="box-sizing: border-box; background: 0px 0px; color: black; text-decoration: underline; - China ,  http://www.franceonu.org/" style="box-sizing: border-box; background: 0px 0px; color: black; text-decoration: underline; - France ,  http://www.russiaun.ru/" style="box-sizing: border-box; background: 0px 0px; color: black; text-decoration: underline; - Russian Federation ,  http://ukun.fco.gov.uk/en/" style="box-sizing: border-box; background: 0px 0px; color: black; text-decoration: underline; - the United Kingdom, and  https://usun.state.gov/" style="box-sizing: border-box; background: 0px 0px; color: black; text-decoration: underline; - the United States , and ten non-permanent members elected for two-year terms by the General Assembly (with end of term year):

DJ...Brazil, India, China, Gabon did not support a US motion against Russian annexation of more parts of Ukraine...Mexico did support it "because Mexico did loose a lot of their country because of annexation in the past" (DJ-By the US...)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzybH0RI80Q or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzybH0RI80Q - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzybH0RI80Q Alexander Mercouris...(Military Summary, others)

-In Ukraine pro-Kiev forces did gain some ground in the north-east, very likely at very high costs.

-Lots of reports of (pro)Russian forces being positioned in/near Ukraine

-The 4 regions (Kherson, Zaparozije, Donetsk, Luhansk) may become formal part of Russia per october 4 (Duma has to accept the law on it..)

DJ-I expect Russian forces will move into the "new parts of Russia" after the formal annexation...A major goal will be to get all of the 4 regions under (pro)Russian control...The Donetsk/Luhansk (Peoples Republics) militia by then will become part of the Russian army...

-Weather may become an increasing factor in the Ukraine war...https://www.ventusky.com/?p=49.5;28.7;5&l=temperature-2m or https://www.ventusky.com/?p=49.5;28.7;5&l=temperature-2m - https://www.ventusky.com/?p=49.5;28.7;5&l=temperature-2m may be usefull...

Alexander Mercouris (AM) also mentioning the economic "problems/collapse" in Europe...NL has a year-to-year inflation of 17,1% ...I am "old" but I never have seen inflition this high in NL...

There are already protests in the UK, France, Germany...Governments on the one hand increase interest rates to limit inflation-on the other hand print more money to compensate for that inflation...AM is correct that inflation-in the west-getting out of control may "decrease support" for the Ukraine-biden-war...

This inflation also does affect the way we can deal with pandemics, disease...Hospitals, healthcare face a major increase in costs...without much of an extra budget...with CoViD, Flu (H3N2), MPX cases "on the rise"...

-https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/turkey-builds-troops-northern-cyprus-rages-inexplicable-us-decision or https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/turkey-builds-troops-northern-cyprus-rages-inexplicable-us-decision - https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/turkey-builds-troops-northern-cyprus-rages-inexplicable-us-decision The US did increase military spending to Greece, Cyprus...(both EU)...frustrating Türkiye...(and the Turkish "held" part of Cyprus...the EU failed to start a reunification proces there). Türkiye also has its own oil/gas plans in the East Mediterranean Sea...

DJ-There is a growing risk of Türkish military action...Some Greek Islands are very close to the Turkish mainland (like some Taiwan islands close to mainland China)...Erdogan can seek Russian support (there are also elections coming in Türkiye ?) for "expanding claims" in "the area"...

Of course both Greece and Türkiye are in NATO...Greece is orthodox christian-links with both Russian and Ukraine orthodoxy...

-Israel may still seek support for anti-Iran actions...a.o. in Syria.

-https://southfront.org/more-evidence-points-to-us-nato-sabotage-of-nord-stream/ or https://southfront.org/more-evidence-points-to-us-nato-sabotage-of-nord-stream/ - https://southfront.org/more-evidence-points-to-us-nato-sabotage-of-nord-stream/ more info on US underwater drones...

-AM link to https://www.globaltimes.cn/page/202209/1276456.shtml or https://www.globaltimes.cn/page/202209/1276456.shtml - https://www.globaltimes.cn/page/202209/1276456.shtml ;DJ, Does Europe has its own foreign policy ? Do European "politicians" help European interests ? NO !!! I am shocked by the UK "new"labour party (following war criminal tony blair) silencing of critical members...A lot of "left wing" parties acting like US slaves...(the German "greens" are destroying Germany...now even promoting coal...).

There is a very major political crisis in "the west"...outcome of unwillingness to go for diplomacy with Russia, Iran, China...outcome also of "fiat currency" ..kicking lots of cans down the road...NOT solving problems (like the Euro/€ problem...).

Battlefield Update

Lyman

The first losses of the “Russian territory” –  Lyman quickly “withdrew” from the Russian Federation, followed by other settlements of Kharkiv, Donetsk and Lugansk regions. The Lyman group comprised five battalions.

The AF of Ukraine destroyed a lot of the enemy force and took enemy equipment and ammunition. In Zarichne, the reinforcements sent there to defend Lyman are in danger of encirclement. The tragedy of Lyman is entirely Putin’s fault. RU army should have withdrawn two days ago. 1500 lives were lost not to dampen the great signing day.

Svatove

UA quickly advances east of Kupyansk-Vuzlovy towards Svatove. The distance between the two is about 40 km.  Enemy defense is lacking. The situation is quickly unfolding. More news to report during Monday’s stream.

Belogorivka

UA expanded its positions across the Siversky Donets. Reminder: in the spring, two RU brigades were destroyed attempting to cross in the same area.

Bakhmut

Mostly private military companies attempt to advance. Overconcentration of enemy artillery noticeably slows down.

Kherson

The enemy suffers heavy losses. UA sources are yet to confirm the specific locations where enemy bases and ammunition depots were hit.

Crimea

Supposedly MiG 31, with ammunition, exploded on takeoff at the Crimean airbase in Belbek.

Reactions to Lyman defeat

To appoint the guilty is the leader’s privilege in the RU military-political power. Kadyrov and Prigozhin accused General Lapin, the General Staff of the Russian Federation, and the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. This signals that Putin no longer controls relationships between subjects of power.

The guilty – the state military – have been named by those who own private armies. This conflict undermines the state system of the Russian Federation. How will RU generals respond? Will private companies be thrown into the most difficult areas? Will we see some friendly fire?

Or UA fire directed with the “help” from some RU units?

How can the Russian Federation act in the event of the loss of recently annexed territories due to the collapse of fronts in different directions? RU mobilization weakens the army instead of fortifying it. The use of tactical nuclear weapons will bring down, first of all, the Russian army.

Mobilization

The UA AF may see a massive replenishment of RU mobilized units in mid-October. First, they will replenish understaffed units, but the situation is so drastic that they will also be thrown to defend separate directions. This will become a catastrophe for the RU army.

Panic and chaos

The RU Ministry of Defense confirms the withdrawal of “allied” troops from Lyman. The “allied” reference points to the level of chaos as these are now supposedly “RU territories,” and the allied troops are RU citizens.

Kadyrov, in his post, revealed the location of headquarters and General Lapin (Starobilsk). Chaos and panic in RU headquarters are growing. These disoriented, uncontrolled officers will lead the newly mobilized who exhibit an absolute lack of discipline, according to numerous videos.

Weapons

Christine Lambrecht, Germany’s Minister of Defense arrived in Odesa with an unannounced visit and promised to deliver IRIS-T air defense systems in the coming days to provide additional protection to Odesa, which is frequently attacked by Iranian drones.

Additional air defense systems are a good sign before the coming winter to prevent attacks on critical infrastructure. RU has greatly diminished the use of cruise missiles; the last three directed at Dnipro were shot down. RU now mostly uses S-300, S-400, and Iranian drones.

Accession to NATO

Ukraine’s accession to NATO doesn’t have to happen before the end of the war. It will be a hard and slow process as any process of joining an organization in western democratic states. Other countries went through the same procedures when joining NATO.

That said, Ukraine’s way of accession is special. First, de-facto integration with NATO is already deep: weapons supplies, exchange of intelligence information, training, etc. Second, the procedure for the rearmament of UA AF according to NATO standards is proceeding rapidly. Third, UA and the West pursue common interests and defend common values.

UA started the discussion in the West regarding its accession to NATO. Despite the long road ahead, UA received main messages of constant support from the USA, Canada, and Baltic states until the entire UA territory is restored. Other NATO members will make their decisions in time.

President Zelensky said that while UA is going through the application process, there must be other security guarantees outlined in the Kyiv security treaty. Among the guarantors are also non-NATO countries.

NATO went through dramatic evolutionary changes regarding Ukraine. The alliance needed time to be convinced that Putin is insane, he will not stop, and he declared war on NATO by threatening to use a nuclear weapon.

On February 28, NATO held an extraordinary meeting to discuss the situation in and around Ukraine, but UA was not even invited. NATO predicted UA will survive only a few days. Three months into the war, on May 15, in Ramstein, NATO decided to offer significant help to UA. On September 28, NATO said the doors to the alliance are open to UA.

Reports are mounting of a Russian collapse on the Kherson front, where approximately 25,000 Russian troops are trapped on the right bank of the Dnipro River with bridges across the river partially destroyed and unable to support military vehicles

After seeing videos of freshly-mobilized Russians—so drunk they could barely stand—many asked me whether it's for real. Hear it straight from the horse's mouth: former deputy commander of Russia's southern military district: "Never in my life have I seen any sober people there."

DJ,

Russia is preparing for moving in into Ukraine...now a more all-out war scenario is more likely. (Anti Terrorist Operation ? ) In that scenario (military) "leaders" of Ukraine-including "NATO advisors" will be hunted down...Some claims Putin want this Ukraine war over before the end of the year...Some "groups" already did put posters in Nikolayev "Russia will be there october 10"...

However-the main "front" no longer is in Ukraine...it is in the SCO de-dollarization of (global) trade...Russia no longer selling oil, gas, uranium to "non-friendly" countries (US was still buying uranium...).

https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/escobar-who-profits-pipeline-terror or https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/escobar-who-profits-pipeline-terror - https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/escobar-who-profits-pipeline-terror

Secret talks between Russia and Germany to resolve their Nord Stream 1 and 2 issues had to be averted at any cost..

DJ, The US -biden-goal is "keep US #1" at ALL costs...https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/blinken-calls-sabotage-attacks-nord-stream-pipelines-tremendous-opportunity or https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/blinken-calls-sabotage-attacks-nord-stream-pipelines-tremendous-opportunity - https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/blinken-calls-sabotage-attacks-nord-stream-pipelines-tremendous-opportunity

US-NATO goal was to keep Germany "down" (the EU limited) and Russia (and China) out...the basic conflict is economic...

What the US not expected is it did become a war between "the west" and "the rest"....

https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/dollar-strength-global-currency-debasement or https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/dollar-strength-global-currency-debasement - https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/dollar-strength-global-currency-debasement

DJ-The "only way out" for western currencies is to increase their intrinsic value...but that would mean "revaluation" back to "real things" (oil, gold, silver etc.) ...I do not think any economist is able to give exact numbers...but it could mean Euro, Dollar, Pound, Yen "real value" is only 10% ??? of the "blown-up/pumped-up" value...It would be an "economic shock" never seen in recent history...only redistribution of wealth...the 1% very rich giving up "their" property could make such a step possible...

https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/kissinger-warns-washington-warmongers-not-wise-include-ukraine-nato or https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/kissinger-warns-washington-warmongers-not-wise-include-ukraine-nato - https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/kissinger-warns-washington-warmongers-not-wise-include-ukraine-nato ;

Mr. Kissinger courted controversy earlier this year by suggesting that incautious policies on the part of the U.S. and NATO may have touched off the crisis in Ukraine.

He saw no choice but to take Vladimir Putin’s stated security concerns seriously and believes that it was a mistake for NATO to signal to Ukraine that it might eventually join the alliance:

“I thought that Poland — all the traditional Western countries that have been part of Western history — were logical members of NATO,” he says.

But Ukraine, in his view, is a collection of territories once appended to Russia, which Russians see as their own, even though “some Ukrainians” do not.

Stability would be better served by its acting as a buffer between Russia and the West:

“I was in favor of the full independence of Ukraine, but I thought its best role was something like Finland.”

Well the 99-year-old has doubled-down on them now, bluntly telling the Council on Foreign Relations that any attempt to remove Russia's historic "safety belt" was unwise.

“From the Russian point of view, the United States then attempted to integrate this whole region, without exception, into an American-led strategic system,” thus stressing that “it was not a wise American policy to attempt to include Ukraine into NATO.”

Finally, the former US Secretary of State said that sooner or later, the West and Russia must engage in dialogue.

“Some dialogue, maybe on an unofficial level, maybe in an exploratory way is very important,” he reiterated, adding that “in the nuclear environment” such an outcome is preferable to a “battlefield decision.”

https://cms.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/modern-us-warmongering-scaring-henry-kissinger" style="box-sizing: border-box; text-decoration: underline; color: rgb(20, 112, 178); - In early August,  Kissinger warned that the US had found itself “at the edge of war with Russia and China on issues which we partly created,” arguing that Washington has rejected traditional diplomacy, as it has been “seeking to convert or condemn their interlocutors rather than to penetrate their thinking.”

As https://cms.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/modern-us-warmongering-scaring-henry-kissinger" style="box-sizing: border-box; text-decoration: underline; color: rgb(20, 112, 178); - Caitlin Johnstone succinctly noted earlier in the year , Henry Kissinger is warning about the dangers of US warmongering not because he has gotten saner, but because the US war machine has gotten crazier:

That we are now hurtling toward confrontations that don’t appear rational to someone who has spent the majority of his life watching the mechanics of empire from inside its inner chambers should concern us all. When you are talking about brinkmanship between major world powers, especially nuclear brinkmanship, the last thing you need is for one of the parties involved to be acting erratically and nonsensically. We need de-escalation and detente, and we need it yesterday. If you’re too hawkish for Henry Kissinger, you’re too motherfucking hawkish.

We couldn't have said it better.

DJ Kissinger has been warning present politicians more then once... what (the h.ll) is wrong with diplomacy ???? Why are "western leaders" pushing this hard for a global war they have NO chance of winning ????

Of course China, India know they are next if NATO could "win" from Russia...Former colonies do not want neo-colonial western dictatorship- a.o. via the US$-any longer...

Somehow "western leaders" are in a tunnel vision driving high speed into a concrete wall...Wake up before it is to late to act...!

Russia's economy will 'die by winter' because of military mobilization

In the seven months since Russia invaded Ukraine, some have argued that the international sanctions levied against Russia weren’t strong enough as Russians continued to travel, shop, party—and generally lead a normal life.

Now, an action by Russian President Vladimir Putin could be the catalyst that brings the war home to Russians and plunges the economy into real catastrophe.

Last Wednesday, Putin announced a “partial” mobilization—Russia’s first mobilization decree since World War II—ordering 300,000 able-bodied men aged 18 to 30 in the military reserves to fight in Ukraine, sparking widespread protests across the country.

“I consider it necessary to make [this] decision, which is fully appropriate to the threats we face…to protect our motherland…to ensure the safety of our people and people in the liberated territories,” Putin said last week.

In the days that followed, Russian police arrested over 2,300 citizens for protesting, and tens of thousands of Russians have now fled the country to avoid the draft.

Now, Russian economist Vladislav Inozemtsev, the director of Moscow-based think tank the Center for Research on Post-Industrial Studies, is warning that Putin’s mobilization will have “truly catastrophic consequences,” including the death of the Russian economy and the downfall of Putin’s regime.

“The Russian economy is going to die by winter, I wrote in early March. Now I think I was right. The mobilization announced on Sept. 21 was a milestone that really divided Russian history into ‘before’ and ‘after’—an event that began the final countdown of Putin’s era,” the economist wrote on Sunday for Russian publication The Insider.

‘I don’t want to die for someone else’s ambitions’

Putin’s mobilization decree has already proved highly unpopular in Russia, prompting mass rallies and protest actions.

On Monday, a gunman opened fire at a military recruitment office in the Siberian region of Irkutsk, injuring one person. The gunman’s identity and motivation have not been disclosed. In Ryazan, a city 115 miles southeast of Moscow, a man set himself on fire, shouting that he didn’t want to fight in Ukraine. Over the weekend, at least 400 people—mostly women—protested in Yakutsk’s city centre, telling police to “let our children live.”

India And China Finally Voicing Concerns Over Russia’s Actions In Ukraine

India and China raised concerns about the impact of Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine—emphasizing the violation of international law and territorial integrity—at a meeting of the UN Security Council on Thursday, rare signs of dissent from the two countries that were likely prompted by Russian President Vladimir Putin’s implicit threat to use nuclear weapons.

Two Putin allies ridicule Russia's war machine in public

LONDON, Oct 3 (Reuters) - The withdrawal of Russian forces from a strategically important town in eastern Ukraine has prompted two powerful allies of President Vladimir Putin to do something rare in modern Russia: publicly ridicule the war machine's top brass.

Russia's loss of the bastion of Lyman, which puts western parts of Luhansk region under threat, touched a nerve for Ramzan Kadyrov, the leader of the southern Russian republic of Chechnya.

Kadyrov, who has been close to Putin since his father and former president of Chechnya, Akhmad, was killed in a 2004 bomb attack in Grozny that also killed a Reuters photographer, suggested that Russia should consider using a small tactical nuclear weapon in Ukraine in response to the loss.

The nuclear warning caught the headlines, but his public scorn for Russia's top generals may have been just as significant in a Russia where public criticism of the war effort from within the top echelons of the elite has been taboo.

"Nepotism in the army will lead to no good," Kadyrov said, adding that the commander of Russian forces in the area should be stripped of his medals and sent to the front line with a gun to wash away his shame with blood.

Such public contempt for the generals running Russia's war is significant because it indicates the level of frustration within Putin's elite over the conduct of the war while also piercing the Kremlin's carefully controlled narrative.

Russia no longer has full control of any of four ‘annexed’ Ukrainian provinces

My colleagues Luke Harding and Isobel Koshiw in Kyiv, and Peter Beaumont in Sloviansk reported this story late on Monday night:

Russia no longer has full control of any of the four provinces of Ukraine it says it annexed last week after Ukrainian troops reportedly advanced dozens of kilometres in Kherson province in the south of the country and made additional gains in the east.

On Monday, the Russian military acknowledged that Kyiv’s forces had broken through in the Kherson region. It said the Ukrainian army and its “superior tank units” had managed to “penetrate the depths of our defence” around the villages of Zoltaya Balka and Alexsandrovka.

Ships for civilian and food shipments have been arriving, loading, and leaving from the Ukrainian port of Odessa for weeks, after a deal reached with Russia to allow such non-military shipping.  Today, the United States was caught sending more HIMARS weapons systems, in the hold of a grain ship.

Above is the photo, taken today in the port of Odessa, Ukraine, showing HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems, inside the cargo hold of a grain ship.

This is in complete and total violation of an agreement between Russia and Ukraine, that ships into and out of Odessa, would only haul food.  That agreement came after Russia was lambasted over Ukrainian grain shipments that were allegedly for "poor, third-world, countries."

Russia agreed to allow the grain shipments for the poorest nations on earth, but got screwed-over immediately, when 87 out of 90 ships in the ports of Ukraine, took the grain to Europe instead of to "poor, third-world, countries."

Now, we see Ukraine violating the agreement yet again, to bring in U.S. long range HIMARS systems in the cargo hold of a grain ship.

DJ-My impression; there are a lot of talks going on...very likely Ukraine-Russia, US-Russia and lots of indirect contacts...goal is to avoid further escalation...Both the US/NATO and Russia/CSTO https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collective_Security_Treaty_Organization or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collective_Security_Treaty_Organization - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collective_Security_Treaty_Organization are "ready" for further escalation...The four regions now are no longer part of Ukraine but of Russia...so any further Ukraine warfare is against Russian land...

Any sane person https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/blue-checks-diplomats-bots-go-ballistic-over-elon-musks-proposed-russia-ukraine-peace or https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/blue-checks-diplomats-bots-go-ballistic-over-elon-musks-proposed-russia-ukraine-peace - https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/blue-checks-diplomats-bots-go-ballistic-over-elon-musks-proposed-russia-ukraine-peace should hope for de-escalation...

DJ-Further escalation may "bring the situation" where Russia, China seek the conflict zone's...very likely this may NOT be in Ukraine...

Some sources mention rain/winter may be on its way for Ukraine limiting the NATO-led forces...https://www.ventusky.com/?p=49.6;34.6;5&l=temperature-2m&t=20221014/0900 or https://www.ventusky.com/?p=49.6;34.6;5&l=temperature-2m&t=20221014/0900 - https://www.ventusky.com/?p=49.6;34.6;5&l=temperature-2m&t=20221014/0900 does not show that rain/winter...So maybe talks are going on ?

Another story is one of the two Northstream-2 pipelines may be repaired and could start transport...if Germany wants it to...The US attacks did not fully destroy the pipes...gas now out of the leaks..With the economy near crash..Germany -the EU- may decide it has to talk with Russia...(even if the US then would push for more war...).

DJ-There is growing notion -even in the west-the US is the main problem...provoking Russia, Iran, China, North Korea...Maybe that also could be a factor for Russia not yet starting a major offensive yet...time is on their side...

A Monday Bloomberg TV segment on the Ukraine war with an expert who has in the recent past advised three UN Secretaries-General didn't go the way the Bloomberg hosts thought it would. Jeffrey Sachs, who is the Director of the Center for Sustainable Development at Columbia University, posited the United Stats was likely behind the sabotage attacks on the Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines when asked about it.

The top UN adviser said during the live interview, "The main fact is that the European economy is getting hammered by this, by the sudden cut-off of energy. And now to make it definitive - the destruction of the Nord Stream pipeline, which I would bet was a US action, perhaps US and Poland." Sachs added: "That is speculation" - before being cut-off mid sentence by show host Tom Keene, who looked a bit flabbergasted and frustrated over the perhaps unexpected turn in the interview...

"Uh, Jeff, we've got to stop there," Keene strongly interjected, leaving Sachs perplexed over why he couldn't continue the thought. The show host then questioned, "Why do you feel that was a US action? What evidence do you have of that?"

Sachs responded “Well, first, there is direct radar evidence that US military helicopters that are normally based in Gdansk were circling over this area," noting additionally that "We also had the threat from the US earlier this year that 'one way or another we are going to end Nord Stream'."

The Columbia professor then recalled from just days ago, "We also had a remarkable statement from Secretary Blinken last Friday in a press conference where he said 'this is also a tremendous opportunity'," which Sachs pointed out is "a strange way to talk if you're worried about piracy on international infrastructure of vital significance."

Needless to say this is not an aspect to the "debate" surrounding the mysterious sabotage of Nord Stream that's at all up to this point been featured on Bloomberg, CNN, MSNBC or other major news shows. But Sachs emphasized in defending his inquiry and suspicions over US involvement that many officials and pundits privately point the finger at Washington, but don't express it publicly:

I know this runs counter to our narrative - you aren't allowed to say these things in the West, but the fact of the matter is all over the world when I talk to people, they think the US did it

All the while the two show hosts attempted to cut in, before Sachs was finally told that the interview should no longer get into "tit-for-tat" of what "did or did not happen with Nord Stream" because "I don't have the evidence" - as the Bloomberg co-host said to close out the controversial topic of the pipelines.

Elsewhere in the interview Sachs emphasized that "most of the world doesn't see it [the Ukraine conflict] as we describe it" in the Western mainstream media, as they are alarmed at NATO expansion. The Columbia professor also early in the interview said:

"In vote after vote at the United Nations, basically, it has been the Western countries that have been voting for sanctions and denunciations and other actions. Whereas most of the world, certainly most of the world counted by population, is on the sidelines. They view this as a horrible clash between Russia and the US."

Sachs also emphasized in pushing back against the show hosts' seeming surprise at his alternate viewpoints that he's "on the side of peace" and voiced fears of escalation toward nuclear war: "Russia feels that this war is at the core of its security interests," he said. Keene at the end of the segment said the show was immediately getting a "fiery response" from viewers

Interestingly enough, the Sachs interview came the same day as the collective mainstream punditry meltdown and "outrage" over Elon Musk's "Russia-Ukraine Peace" Twitter poll, as https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/blue-checks-diplomats-bots-go-ballistic-over-elon-musks-proposed-russia-ukraine-peace" style="box-sizing: border-box; text-decoration: underline; color: rgb(20, 112, 178); - we described previously .

DJ...one of the "spins" in blaming Russia for blowing up its (12 billion investment) Northstream pipelines is the "nuclear claims" the US is pushing...A nuclear attack in Ukraine most likely will be a US made false flag...blaming Russia-while Russia is not in need of nuclear weapons in Ukraine...Russia still has to start "the real war" ...

Again...every "sane person" realizes that...would try to avoid further escalation...So-again-I expect there are lots of talks in lots of places to find a way out...

DJ,

I admit it is a speculation; Germany (France, EU ???) -via Saudi Arabia -are talking with Russia...

New export licenses

https://www.dw.com/en/germanys-energy-crisis-economy-minister-robert-habeck-under-pressure/a-63186583" style="color: rgb(0, 135, 235); text-decoration: none; - Robert Habeck , Germany's economy minister and vice chancellor, confirmed in a letter to the Bundestag that several deals on arms exports had been approved by Scholz before his trip to the region, Der Spiegel and the dpa news agency reported.

The export licenses are part of a joint program with Italy, Spain and Britain, according to the letter.

Riyadh will be able to purchase equipment and ammunition for Eurofighter and Tornado jets worth €36 million ($35.2 million), according to Der Spiegel.

The European cooperation project will also supply spare parts for the Airbus A330 MRTT worth €2.8 million, dpa reported.

Banned in 2018

German weapons sales to Saudi Arabia peaked at €1.24 billion in 2012.

But in 2018, Germany's ruling bloc of the conservative CDU/CSU and the Social Democrats (SPD)  https://www.dw.com/en/saudi-arabia-urges-germany-to-lift-arms-export-ban/a-52403302" style="color: rgb(0, 135, 235); text-decoration: none; - agreed to ban arms exports to countries involved in the Yemen war .

The agreement had several exceptions that allowed some exports of German military materials to the Gulf state.

A complete ban came into effect a year later, after Khashoggi's murder. The ban was extended twice since then.

What changed?

The ban was in line with  https://www.dw.com/en/why-germany-refuses-weapons-deliveries-to-ukraine/a-60483231" style="color: rgb(0, 135, 235); text-decoration: none; - Germany's stance of not exporting weapons to active conflict zones .

That https://www.dw.com/en/germany-reverses-ban-on-weapon-sales-to-ukraine-as-it-happened/a-60924798" style="color: rgb(0, 135, 235); text-decoration: none; - stance has shifted this year as Germany came under pressure to provide Ukraine with weapons during Russia's invasion.

Riyadh has led an alliance in Yemen that is fighting the Iran-backed Houthi rebels alongside the government since 2014, creating what the UN has called https://www.dw.com/en/un-calls-for-billions-in-yemen-aid-under-shadow-of-ukraine-conflict/a-61142875" style="color: rgb(0, 135, 235); text-decoration: none; - the world's worst humanitarian crisis .

But hopes that the conflict could soon come to an end have risen as  https://www.dw.com/en/yemens-fragile-cease-fire-holding-so-far-un-envoy-says/a-61384831" style="color: rgb(0, 135, 235); text-decoration: none; - a UN-brokered cease-fire took effect in April and has since been renewed twice.

Berlin is also looking to improve its ties with energy exporters as it cuts its reliance on Russian gas during the war in Ukraine. https://www.dw.com/en/energy-woes-trump-human-rights-as-scholz-visits-saudi-arabia/a-63189419" style="color: rgb(0, 135, 235); text-decoration: none; - Saudi Arabia is one of the world's most important energy exporters .

Its largest customers were South Korea, Algeria and Egypt.

Like Türkiye Saudi Arabia "is balancing" between Russia, China, EU, US...Germany/EU needs more energy...OPEC+ may decrease oil production...however maybe a choice could be to send less oil to China more to Europe...

Türkiye, but also OPEC members-have no problems in buying Russian oil/gas for "domestic use" to increase their own oil/gas exports...not sanctioned by "the west"...

A.o. The Duran https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLN155b9vx8 or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLN155b9vx8 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLN155b9vx8 on why Russia is not (yet) in a major offensive in Ukraine...Putin is "balancing"...A "full scale war" is "bad for bussiness"...

So Russia is making clear;

UPDATE 8:29 PM EDT --

The source and purpose of these "strange lights" has been identified: Russia's PERESVET Laser Anti-Satellite System.

The military nature of the lighting became evident when the same light pattern hit the skies in Moscow, Murmansk, and Omsk, Russia as the world was paying attention to the lights in Belgorad.

These laser systems are "anti-satellite" insofar as they can "dazzle" any recon satellite orbiting within 1500 kilometers of earth!

By "Dazzle" we mean "Temporarily blind" the satellite, making it impossible for the satellite to "see" anything on the ground for tens-of-miles in all directions of its typical fly-by.

At this hour, I am told that with the area covered by the light emissions from Belgorad, Omsk, Moscow, and Murmansk, US/NATO surveillance satellites NOW CANNOT SEE A FULL FIFTY PERCENT OF RUSSIAN NUCLEAR MISSILE SILOS.

One source, in a position to know, told me "We can't see if the missile silo hatches are open."   He also told me "In vast swaths of Russia right now, we cannot see what is happening on the ground, or more importantly, what is moving and where, on the ground. For instance, we can no longer see if Tactical nuclear weapons are being pulled out of storage."

it is willing and able to escalate ...however not yet escalating..

Belarus, Poland "position themselves"...indicating a further escalation may bring war into Europe further...with more deaths, refugees, risks of further escalation...

DJ-In this conflict of "the west against the rest" lots of countries (India, Indonesia, Brazil) may be trying to "get the west to some sense"

The EU may become aware that US interests are NOT (always) EU interests...

DJ-Due to economic (and maybe pandemic) perspective(s) the "west" could be breaking up...

Economist Jeffrey Sachs tells Bloomberg that it is only logical to conclude that the U.S. had something to do with the Nord Stream pipeline and the anchors lose their mind. They say that they don't want a little thing like evidence to get in the way of their narrative! Of course not!

DJ..."the US created a great oppertunity to decrease European dependence on Russian gas" by blowing up Northstream 1 and 2 pipelines...

It is impossible for Europe NOT to see it as a "sort of decleration of war" by the US on the EU...so looking at the timeline; a European-Saudi weapondeal concluded after the US attacks on Northstream -with Saudi Arabia trying to go for talks between "the west" and Russia (and Saudi Arabia beeing supported in that step by a.o. the S.C.O, BRICS etc..) -

my conclusion is Northstream 1 & 2 sabotage is backfiring...

It is "very likely" Poland, Germany, Denmark, Sweden "know more" on the US role then they are willing to say...

The EU will not move to "friendship with Russia" but it may take some distance from the US...put more its own interests as a priority...

"Minsk-3" on its way ????

And now  it is almost certain that russia sabotaged their own gas pipes in an act of cowardice in a feeble attempt to fracture the Best.

Five reasons why Russia is likely behind the Nord Stream industrial sabotage

Here are five reasons why Russia is probably the state that has orchestrated this dangerous act.

First, Putin has the motivation. Facing potential defeat in Ukraine, Putin is desperate to reverse the momentum on the battlefield by resorting to dramatic escalation. This is his way of trying to compel the U.S. and Europe to stop providing long-range weaponry to Ukraine. The outcome of the conflict in Ukraine is an existential issue for him personally and for Russia. Russia views Ukraine, along with other former Soviet states, as part of its strategic security perimeter.

Second, damaging or destroying critical infrastructure is consistent with Russia’s warfighting concept called Strategic Operation to Defeat Critical Infrastructure of the Adversary (SOPKVOP, in Russian). Russian strategists spent decades conceptualizing ways to bypass the  https://www.foxnews.com/world/biden-set-ratify-us-support-sweden-finland-enter-nato" style="box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; font: inherit; vertical-align: baseline; color: rgb(0, 51, 102); transition: background 0s ease 0s, all 0.25s ease 0s, all 0s ease-in-out 0s; text-decoration: underline; - U.S. and NATO conventional superiority in a conflict they had concluded was inevitable because Moscow and Washington have been in confrontation over control of the post-Soviet space since the collapse of the USSR in 1991.

https://www.foxnews.com/world/nord-stream-pipeline-blasts-likely-explosions-not-earthquakes-seismologist-says" style="box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; font: inherit; vertical-align: baseline; color: rgb(0, 51, 102); transition: background 0s ease 0s, all 0.25s ease 0s, all 0s ease-in-out 0s; text-decoration: underline; - - NORD STREAM PIPELINE BLASTS WERE LIKELY FROM EXPLOSIONS, NOT EARTHQUAKES, SEISMOLOGIST SAYS

Intended for wartime, SOPKVOP operations also can be deployed during peacetime to "destabilize the opponent’s social and political situation" and dislodge the adversary psychologically to persuade him to abandon the fight. Russia’s targeting strategy prioritizes critical infrastructure. It has spent years studying Western vulnerabilities. SOPKVOP envisions prosecuting quasi-military campaigns by employing cyber operations and other non-kinetic methods.

Third, https://www.foxnews.com/media/morale-leadership-bad-russian-forces-lt-gen-kellogg" style="box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; font: inherit; vertical-align: baseline; color: rgb(0, 51, 102); transition: background 0s ease 0s, all 0.25s ease 0s, all 0s ease-in-out 0s; text-decoration: underline; - Russian military strategists have pondered a scenario in which Russia would target their adversaries' civilian infrastructure during a conflict. Defeating a "small number of key interconnected targets" that are vital to the functioning of the state would cause the "entire system to collapse," they hypothesized.

https://www.foxnews.com/media/glenn-greenwald-nord-stream-pipeline-provides-enormous-leverage-russia" style="box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; font: inherit; vertical-align: baseline; color: rgb(0, 51, 102); transition: background 0s ease 0s, all 0.25s ease 0s, all 0s ease-in-out 0s; text-decoration: underline; - In 2012, Russian strategists analyzed a 2001 accident in the United States that involved a train that was transporting hazardous chemical materials and veered off the tracks in a Baltimore tunnel. The accident burst a water pipe, causing a three-foot flood that disrupted Baltimore’s mail carrier and telecommunications systems. Disruption of train and auto transportation followed along the entire Baltimore-to-New York corridor.

"Taking parts of the adversary’s civilian infrastructure out of commission," the Russian strategists argued, will produce cascading destructive effects, "harming the economy, healthcare, defense and security of the entire state."

Fourth, Russia is one of very few countries that has the exact capability needed to sever the Nord Stream pipelines carrying  https://www.foxbusiness.com/markets/russias-gazprom-indefinitely-shuts-gas-flow-europe" style="box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; font: inherit; vertical-align: baseline; color: rgb(0, 51, 102); transition: background 0s ease 0s, all 0.25s ease 0s, all 0s ease-in-out 0s; text-decoration: underline; - Russian gas to Europe and to do it covertly. Moscow has invested in undersea warfare capabilities through its GUGI program, a top secret program with the innocuous cover name of "Deep Sea Research" that includes work on undersea communications and sensor networks, hydrocarbon exploitation, submarine rescue and investigating wreckage.

https://www.foxnews.com/newsletters" style="box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; font: inherit; vertical-align: baseline; color: rgb(0, 51, 102); transition: background 0s ease 0s, all 0.25s ease 0s, all 0s ease-in-out 0s; text-decoration: underline; - Moscow has war gamed territorial incursions in  https://www.foxnews.com/world/nord-stream-pipeline-blasts-likely-explosions-not-earthquakes-seismologist-says" style="box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; font: inherit; vertical-align: baseline; color: rgb(0, 51, 102); transition: background 0s ease 0s, all 0.25s ease 0s, all 0s ease-in-out 0s; text-decoration: underline; - the Baltic Sea and the North Atlantic as well as the disruption of undersea cables that carry communications. It is the only country, according to the U.S. Naval Institute, that has a fleet of special mission submarines for seabed warfare and espionage and is expanding this capability, while U.S. and European antisubmarine warfare capabilities have atrophied since the end of the Cold War.

Fifth, Putin has no use for Nord Stream in the short term, as neither pipeline 1 or 2 are revenue producing. Moscow shut down Nord Stream 1 at the end of August, claiming that U.S. and European economic sanctions had made maintenance impossible. Nord Stream 2 never became operational, with Germany having declined its certification. To the contrary, taking Nord Stream out of commission serves  https://www.foxnews.com/category/world/personalities/vladimir-putin" style="box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; font: inherit; vertical-align: baseline; color: rgb(0, 51, 102); transition: background 0s ease 0s, all 0.25s ease 0s, all 0s ease-in-out 0s; text-decoration: underline; - Putin’s goal of freezing the Europeans in winter, a standard Putin move to use energy as a weapon.

Laser Weapons Become An Invisible Killer That Changes War

Posted on  https://blog.htpow.com/2020/06/03/laser-weapons-become-an-invisible-killer-that-changes-war/" rel="bookmark" style="box-sizing: inherit; background-color: transparent; color: rgb(115, 115, 115); text-decoration: none; -

The US Navy plans to deploy the latest laser weapons on the landing ship “Ponce” this summer. This is the first solid laser weapon deployed by the US Navy. This signifies that the long-term development of the US military’s laser weapons is about to be put into actual combat, moving from behind the scenes to the front stage.

Unlike the scenes in science fiction movies, https://www.htpow.com/high-powered-30000mw-blue-laserpointer-445nm-worlds-brightest-p-1027.html" style="box-sizing: inherit; background-color: transparent; color: rgb(115, 115, 115); text-decoration: none; - laser pointer beams produced by laser weapons can only see the damage to the target after being hit by the naked eye, but they cannot see the actual beam. But it is this “invisible killer” that has the potential to change the combat thinking of future wars and have a decisive impact on the victory or defeat of wars.

Our soldiers do not stop."

The U.S.-based Institute for the Study of War (ISW) research group said Russian forces, to avoid encirclement, had retreated from at least 18 Kherson settlements, including Davydiv Brid and Dudchany, strategically important cogs in Russia's supply lines.

"Even the pro-war Russian bloggers — who command large followings online and often have direct access to Russian troops at the front line — were raising the alarm on Tuesday,"  https://www.nytimes.com/2022/10/04/world/europe/ukraine-russia-war.html" rel="noopener" style="box-sizing: inherit; background-color: transparent; color: rgb(0, 91, 165); text-decoration: underline; transition: all 0.2s ease-in-out 0s; font-weight: 400; - ABC News correspondent Ian Pannell reports that Russian military bloggers are complaining that their forces are outnumbered and outgunned, thanks to Ukraine's Western-supplied weapons.

One Russian military blogger claimed Tuesday that some Russian units in Kherson "have operated in the area without rotation since March and that the frontline is stretched so thin that some villages in this sector have 15 men defending them,"  https://www.understandingwar.org/backgrounder/russian-offensive-campaign-assessment-october-4" rel="noopener" style="box-sizing: inherit; background-color: transparent; color: rgb(0, 91, 165); text-decoration: underline; transition: all 0.2s ease-in-out 0s; font-weight: 400; - ISW reports . "This description of a thin and undermanned frontline, along with effective Ukrainian offensive operations, partially explains the rapid rate of Russian collapse in this sector."

The military bloggers and war correspondents are one of three nationalist factions Russian President Vladimir Putin must appease to keep his war effort together, and after the collapses in Kharkiv and Kherson and his botched mobilization of reservists, "Putin is visibly failing at balancing" their "mutually exclusive demands,"  https://www.understandingwar.org/backgrounder/russian-offensive-campaign-assessment-october-4" rel="noopener" style="box-sizing: inherit; background-color: transparent; color: rgb(0, 91, 165); text-decoration: underline; transition: all 0.2s ease-in-out 0s; font-weight: 400; - ISW reports . Meanwhile on Russian state TV: grim predictions that Russia is at least two months away from even attempting to advance. Also, some surprising admissions about how unprepared they were and the magnitude of the losses they've experienced in Ukraine.

⚡️ The governor of the Omsk region of the Russian Federation, Oleksandr Burkov, said that the region has no money for payments to mobilized citizens. He also noted that the region has a budget deficit of more than 13 billion rubles. In this regard,

Burkov offered to transfer the burden to business, "recommending" it to pay the mobilized an amount equal to a month's salary.

DJ-Is the west run by crazy people ????

https://www.moonofalabama.org/2022/10/crazy-sanctions.html or https://www.moonofalabama.org/2022/10/crazy-sanctions.html - https://www.moonofalabama.org/2022/10/crazy-sanctions.html EU-UK-US "price cap" on Russian oil has no chance...only will worsen the energy crisis. A comment;

This was not done out of Saudi solidarity with Russia. Saudi Arabia needs oil at above $80/bl to finance its budget.

There are signs that the Americans are threatening the House of Saud if it cuts production further. MBS better watch his throne ... Perhaps even his back.

DJ...the US has the bad habbit of killing heads of state not following US orders...

Did "we beat nazism" in 1945 ? Or are the "motors behind it" still in power ? Using pandemics, climate change to increase profits for themselves-at the end killing billions of people...

I would very much like to draw attention to this post and maybe pass it on. Especially for journalists. A colleague of mine (a military expert, a citizen of a NATO country who served in the international armed forces) has just informed me that a nuclear provocation in the south of Ukraine may occur in the coming days. I believe this report, for reasons that I will explain in more detail below.

As a reminder, at the talks between the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine and the NATO command at the end of August, the use of tactical nuclear weapons (TNW) or radioactive ("dirty") weapons in the south of Ukraine was discussed, followed by an accusation against Moscow. This should provide for a really deep breakthrough on the front and facilitate the emigration of the disloyal population of the region to Kiev. For the US, this is a pretext to aggravate the situation and force the EU countries to unite within the framework of NATO.

This could happen on October 5-10. Malka or Pion launchers, which should be available to Ukraine, could be used to shoot down the ammunition. (This option was worked out by military experts). Kiev insisted on the provision of TNW, but the "partners" were afraid that the ammunition could be stolen and insisted on making several "dirty" ammunition using radioactive material available to the AFU, possibly from Chernobyl, under the guidance of NATO advisers.

DJ...a.o. military summary has been warning for an Ukraine "dirty bomb"...Zelenski left the Munich-security-conference https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Munich_Security_Conference#2022_conference or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Munich_Security_Conference#2022_conference - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Munich_Security_Conference#2022_conference with the claim Ukraine would get nuclear weapons...it may have been one of the final reasons for the Russian intervention...

The "biden-government" believes Putin was able to get trump elected...this "club of democrats" has been pushing for regime change in Moscow from day 1...

EU/UK "leaders" follow US orders resulting in an energy crisis, hyperinflation at "home" and escalating risks of major war with both Russia, Iran and China...

Healthcare is in crisis-close to collapse...with a bad winter wave coming...Climate collapse only getting worse due to ("green") politics now increasing coal....

This danger is rarely discussed. How bad could it be?

A doubling of the mean methane level could push up the mean methane level to twice as much, to 792.4 ppm COâ‚‚e, which is only 407.6 ppm COâ‚‚ away from the 1200 ppm COâ‚‚e  https://arctic-news.blogspot.com/p/clouds-feedback.html" style="text-decoration: none; color: rgb(153, 34, 17); - clouds tipping point that on its own could push up the temperature by some 8°C globally.

This gap of 407.6 ppm COâ‚‚ could be more than covered by the current carbon dioxide level. The September 2022 carbon dioxide level at Mauna Loa was higher than that, at 415.96 ppm. Since the carbon dioxide level at Mauna Loa in September typically is at its lowest point for the year, this implies that a large abrupt burst of methane could cause the the clouds tipping point to be instantly crossed due to methane and carbon dioxide alone.

Since there are further forcers, such as nitrous oxide and CFCs, while further events and development could additionally speed up the temperature rise, this means that the clouds tipping point could be instantly crossed in case of a burst of methane that is far smaller in size than the methane already in the atmosphere.

DJ...are humans self-destructive ? At least western leaders push for an end of live on this planet...INSANE !!!

DJ, Good talk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwWOqUdQ6xE or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwWOqUdQ6xE - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwWOqUdQ6xE ; Garland Nixon/Scott Ritter;

Some basics;

-Ukraine now going for the max they can go-with lots of NATO help...but if that will not bring the results NATO/US wants what then...Russia still has to start..

-The idea of "regime change" in Moscow may bring only a more nationalist ruler-going for mass mobilization and war against NATO in power...DJ there have been warnings on this point for China as well...the present CCP rule in Bejing may have been "more open" for the west then any other likely new China ruler may be...Be carefull what you wish for...

-EU/Europe now a prisoner of NATO/US...sanctions are destroying Europe...blowing up northstream -by the US- went to far...

-DJ, OPEC+ may not be "pro-Russian" ; fossil fuels will see a limited market-so oil producers have all the interest in keeping prices high...Russian and OPEC interests may be the same...(so regime change in OPEC countries may not serve US goals any longer...)

-DJ-I may not agree with the view of "Russia being a better partner for the EU then the US is"...the problem is EU "leaning" not acting as an adult...The EU should have its OWN !!! foreign policy ! This could create MORE stability in this world !!! For that matter, biden may be provoking Russia, Iran, China...the EU is making matters much worse by agreeing with bad politics !

-https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/escobar-whole-chessboard-about-be-radically-changed or https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/escobar-whole-chessboard-about-be-radically-changed - https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/escobar-whole-chessboard-about-be-radically-changed ;

This was an address to the collective Global South. In a key passage, Putin remarked how “the world has entered a period of revolutionary transformations, which are fundamental in nature. New development centers are being formed, they represent the majority.”

As he made the direct connection between multipolarity and strengthening of sovereignty, he took it all the way to the emergence of a new anti-colonial movement, a turbocharged version of the Non-Aligned Movement of the 1960s:

“We have many like-minded people all over the world, including in Europe and the United States, and we feel and see their support. A liberating, anti-colonial movement against unipolar hegemony is already developing in various countries and societies. Its subjectivity will only grow. It is this force that will determine the future geopolitical reality.”

DJ "market economy" did make the poor even more poor, the rich even more rich...on the long term that "strategy" does not work (unless you want to kill all the poor...). So the "western offer" is not offering any future for most non-western countries...The west only wants to create a rich non-western small elite serving western goals and profits...

Do Russia, China (India, Brazil, Indonesia, Pakistan, Nigeria) offer better perspectives ? Trade in own currencies may at least result in more value for those currencies (and not US$, Euro, Pound or Yen...). Around 90% of the global population do NOT live in the US-UK-EU....yet most of the wealth is with the 10% former colonizers...

Things need to change...(and the only western offer is regime change wars and coups...)...

Take the chairman of the Russian parliament's defense committee, Andrey Kartapolov. A retired top-ranking military officer who previously commanded the Western Military District (which has operational responsibility for areas of Ukraine outside of Crimea), Kartapolov was parachuted into the Duma last September as a reward for his loyalty. But Kartapolov offered no spin on Wednesday. Condemning the defense ministry's rose-tinted reporting on the war in Ukraine, Kartapolov explained that the country's credibility was being undermined by the public's awareness of major losses. "The people know, our people are not stupid," he said. Storms,

No doubt will worsen diseases...Pakistan, Florida etc. still dealing with major damage. Climate collapse is a major factor in weather disasters...however hurricanes, storms are not new...this year so far has been quiet...

Economy,

https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/opecs-action-testimony-staggering-us-geopolitical-and-geoeconomic-error or https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/opecs-action-testimony-staggering-us-geopolitical-and-geoeconomic-error - https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/opecs-action-testimony-staggering-us-geopolitical-and-geoeconomic-error ;

Yesterday was all about oil, geopolitics, and geostrategic errors; and, in the background, domestic politics, accepting past errors, and trying to make amends for them. Ironically, it all happened on Yom Kippur, the Jewish Day of Atonement, which back in 1973 jump-started a Middle East war, and then the energy crisis that led to the collapse of the post-WW2 Western political-economy model, and ushered in global neoliberalism.

OPEC+ lined up with Russia to slash output by 2m barrels a day from November and through 2023, pushing energy prices up, and seeing a slew of calls for oil to again top $100 in the near future. That was as US gasoline inventory data dropped 4.7m barrels to the lowest level since November 2014 despite apparent demand destruction.

The White House response was furious. The official  https://pub.raboresearch.rabobank.com/public/r/aAAtFszUFKwWuBOu5FyZnA/XqDIXbxZmh8vy1ToAnU5_A/Efcru+1v_cg8rq2UTLNb6w" style="box-sizing: border-box; text-decoration: underline; color: rgb(20, 112, 178); - statement said President Biden was “disappointed by the short-sighted decision” to cut production. The White House Press Secretary accused OPEC+ of “aligning with Russia” Off the record the response was probably blunter given such a cut had been flagged as a “hostile act”. Yet Saudi Arabia’s message to the White House also couldn’t have been blunter.

The Saudis have moved from swing producers who help the US at times of trouble to ones who cut to keep prices high; under a leader building Western-style tourist resorts and holding raves(!) That’s testimony to a staggering US geopolitical and geoeconomic error, compounded by its multi-layered domestic energy policy failures. The longer-term question is if it will prove to be the same kind of massive error for OPEC+ to have made itself a geostrategic problem for the US.

The near-term US policy responses underway are to double down on what is not working:

Do you see the geopolitical and geoeconomic tectonic plates shifting? Do you see how this influences markets? If not, you are in the wrong game.

DJ...most oil producing countries know their oil may be worth less in a much more renewable energy focussed world on the horizon...So they go for extra profits now...Saudi Arabia is hoping to see more tourists...Shifting away from fossil fuel-economy when your economy is based on fossil fuels is costly...

On top of that the US-via fracking-became the largest global oil producer (again...it had that position early 20th century as well)..however most of it for own (over) consumption...Saudi Arabia was the #1 producer for some time...may not have liked the US taking over the #1 producer-position...

Russia and Saudi Arabia-in a way-both now have religion in a main role...orthodox and "more outspoken" Islam may mix quite well...

Oil producers also tend to move away from the US=petro-dollar...to see their own currencies gaining a larger role...Of course that is weakening the $...printing/creating even more dollars (QE) may have reached its limits...Fiat currencies are "pumped up" to the limit...so "the west" has a problem...the real value of dollar, Euro, Pound, Yen may be hardly a shadow-in international trade-of what "the west" likes...so

Wars..

are the logical outcome..."west against the rest"the 10% rich countries against the 90% not that rich countries...

In fact this is a war over global economic dominance...the "west" would like to keep the rest poor...The 'rest" has had enough of it...

https://halturnerradioshow.com/index.php/en/news-page/world/kinderlandverschickung or https://halturnerradioshow.com/index.php/en/news-page/world/kinderlandverschickung - https://halturnerradioshow.com/index.php/en/news-page/world/kinderlandverschickung ;

Russian authorities in Kherson Oblast announced that all schoolchildren will be evacuated to Crimea, to "spend their Autumn holidays."  In reality, this is, as the Germans called it,  "Kinderlandverschickung."

Officials from the region say that schools will stay closed until the 21st of October for security reasons, which also necessitate evacuation.

It is described in C.S. Lewis' "Narnia"-series. This means, that heavy bombardment of the cities is expected, and they're moving the kids out before it beginsHIGHWAY TO HELL

With no off-ramp.

This is what's being shared by the overwhelming majority of Russian channels. Possibly leaked from a source way up in the command chain - and/or about to be established in a position of power.

Not necessarily the road map ahead. But certainly reflecting a consensus. Don't expect any confirmation from the MoD.

Destroying Ukraine's power supply nodes.
Hitting rail and road logistics hubs.
Destruction of tunnels and bridges.
Destruction of all buildings housing government offices.
Elimination of Ukraine's political leadership.
Diversionary operations to undermine military supply, training, intelligence, etc. hubs in Poland, Germany, Romania, the Baltics, England... It should be a massive attack.
Internationalization of armed forces, involvement of allies: Vietnam, North Korea, armed formations from CIS countries, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Africa, etc.
Procurement and supply of troops at the expense of military allies. Nothing more to be embarrassed about.
Strikes on military satellites of western countries over Ukraine.
. Air defense, a no-fly zone over Ukraine, REB.
Destroying strategically important dams.
Carrying out a tightly controlled, detailed, and coordinated offensive operation.

DJ..Hal Turner is not always a good source...but children being evacuated to Crimea makes sense...Internationalization of-a.o.-the war in Ukraine may allready be happening.

It most likely was discussed in the latest SCO-meeting in Samarkand...Russia, Iran, China are "partners"...but "Afghan (Taliban ???) forces"? In Iraq, Syria there are Afghan militia fighting on the side of Iran...North Korea would be willing to "send 100,000 military" ...others expect North Korea may get involved in reconstruction, building...Vietnam has "a history" with China...

My impression on the present state of the Ukraine war is Russia has-for now-decided Ukraine forces can keep attacking...with heavy losses...For political reasons Russia want to "limit" exposure in Ukraine...If need be further Russian escalation however may be destruction of (civil) infrastructure-to deny NATO-Ukraine forces movement...and then destroy the Ukraine army and leadership...

I do have my doubts on Poland taking over some western segments of Ukraine...both Kiev and Moscow may not accept that...(it also would still mean NATO moving east).

I do think there are "lots of talks" between Russia and "Ukrainians"...between Russia and European countries (direct and-a.o. via Saudi Arabia indirect)...Russia may wait with a major-final-offensive-to take over ALL of Ukraine (before the end of this year) to give talks a chance...

Next week, next month, end of the year. You're about 0 for 10 on your predictions based on the trash that you worship. Rapists, pedophiles, felons, and self admitted drug addicts and mental patients aren't the best sources. Shunned by society, unemployed, and unwanted,  they post their rubbish from their rooms counting on clicks from their ignorant followers. Actually, it's probably for the best that these animals aren't walking the streets....

A growing number of Russian military veterans have come to the conclusion that Putin’s war in Ukraine is unwinnable.  As UKR’s counter-offensive continues, these  voices are becoming more numerous. https://themoscowtimes.com/2022/10/03/we-

A nice birthday present for putin and his puppets....

A new video published online shows significant damage inflicted on the Crimean Bridge following reported explosions in the early morning of Oct. 8. The illegally constructed bridge links the Russian-occupied Ukrainian peninsula Crimea with mainland Russia via the Kerch Strait.

Elizabeth Tsurkov, a fellow at the Newlines Institute for Strategy and Policy, a think-tank based in Washington, DC, tweeted that Russia was claiming the Kerch bridge could not be attacked just months ago.

She wrote:

Only 3 months ago, Russian propaganda was claiming that the Crimea bridge was impossible to attack because of 20 different modes of protection covering it, including military dolphins. What a colossal failure.

However, a truck bomb earlier today caused a fire and the collapse of a section of the bridge linking Russia-annexed Crimea with Russia, Russian officials said, damaging a key supply artery for Moscow’s faltering war effort in southern Ukraine.

The speaker of Crimea’s Kremlin-backed regional parliament immediately accused Ukraine, though the Kremlin didn’t apportion blame. Ukrainian officials have repeatedly threatened to strike the bridge and some lauded the attack, but Kyiv stopped short of claiming responsibility.

According to a http://egfound.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/2022-09-Rethinking-American-Strength.pdf" style="box-sizing: border-box; text-decoration: underline; color: rgb(20, 112, 178); - new survey of Americans , a growing majority desire negotiations with Washington’s enemies. For example, nearly 80% of people polled said they want the White House to continue nuclear talks with Iran.

The Eurasia Group Foundation released a new survey asking Americans if our government should negotiate with adversaries. Nearly twice as many Americans said they want more talks compared to those calling for less diplomacy

Since Joe Biden became president, Washington’s relationship with Moscow, Beijing, Pyongyang and Tehran has become more contentious. However, the increasingly hostile White House is not reflective of the American public. Year-over-year the poll shows an increase in Americans favoring diplomacy over isolation.

The pollsters also found overwhelming support for negotiations with Iran. When asked, "Do you think the US should continue to pursue negotiations to prevent Iran from obtaining or developing a nuclear weapon in the near future?" 78.8 of Americans said yes, including over 70% of Republicans

Biden campaigned on engaging Tehran and returning to the nuclear agreement that President Barack Obama helped create. President Donald Trump illegally exited in 2018.

The Biden White House has largely adopted the hardline position of the Trump administration, expanding the “maximum pressure” campaign, piling on additional sanctions, and preventing the US from reentering the nuclear deal.

On Russia-Ukraine, the poll found that "Avoiding a direct war between the US and Russia was the highest ranked goal across all party affiliations. This was followed by preventing the suffering of the Ukrainian people."

While Americans prefer engagement with adversaries, politicians in Washington largely advocate for an isolationist path Republican Senator from North Carolina Thom Tillis recently said talking with Iran was ill-advised. Democratic Senator Bob Menendez is a well-known Iran hawk and has repeatedly expressed his opposition to a diplomatic agreement with Tehran.

DJ...Again what is wrong with diplomacy and trying to understand other countries concerns on a.o. safety...

Negotiating with terrorist nations rarely works out. When Putin is ready to pull his troops out of Ukraine there could be talks. If he continues terrorizing a sovereign nation with his unprovoked invasion, his troops will be physically removed. Defeating russia is how you prevent WW3.

Three in four Americans say U.S. should support Ukraine despite Russian threats, Reuters/Ipsos poll shows

WASHINGTON, Oct 5 (Reuters) - Nearly three-quarters of Americans say that the United States should continue to support Ukraine, despite Russian threats that it could use nuclear weapons to protect its territory, according to a Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll released on Wednesday.

The polling suggested continuing backing for President Joe Biden's provision of weapons systems, training and other military assistance for President Volodymyr Zelenskiy's government, despite concerns that the war might escalate if Ukraine is provided longer-range weapons that could hit Russia.

-NL has now 75,000 Ukraine refugees. About 25,000 of them would like to stay in NL (or another western country)-50,000 of them would like to return-when possible to the Ukraine. Worsening of the situation could bring up to 200.000 Ukraine refugess...since they have an EU-linked status they are allowed to stay in the EU for two years, can work, language training...

Some estimates put the number of Ukrainians now outside Ukraine at 8 to 10 million out of the 43,2 million Ukraine population.
