Can someone provide information on sutures? I have purchased butterfly bandaids, but wondered if there were a large cut requiring stitches -- how would I handle it? I am just a layperson. Anyhow, it did cross my mind and I wondered about it. Thanks, Argyll. |

Suturing is not really hard, just takes some practice. Sutures can be found on Ebay if you want to get it a try. There are several web sites that show how to do this.
Also, super glue can be use to close wounds. Buy some of the small tubes and store them.

Superglu -- who would have thought?! Great idea. I can definitely purchase and store. I have boys, both of whom have had a set of stitches once. So, it did cross my mind regarding stitches. I will try and google sutures and see what I come up with. Thanks again, Argyll. |

This was noted somewhere else in another thread, but make sure when you superglue a laceration that you leave a little hole open for drainage. Otherwise it could swell up and hold the infection in, which would not be a fun outcome!
