Temporary Body Storage search going on https://www.find-tender.service.gov.uk/Notice/013120-2021?origin=SearchResults&p=1 or https://www.find-tender.service.gov.uk/Notice/013120-2021?origin=SearchResults&p=1 ; II.1.4) Short descriptionThe Authority seeks to procure a framework agreement for temporary body storage in the event of an excess deaths situation for the 32 London boroughs and the City of London, led by Westminster City Council. The framework agreement will appoint a single provider and will be for a period of 4 years. This will be a contingency contract, only called upon in the event that an excess deaths situation arises in the future and existing local body storage capacity needs to be augmented. The over-arching aim of this tender is to provide a single framework supplier that will be able to provide temporary body storage facilities to house deceased in the event of an excess deaths situation. The deceased will be stored with dignity and respect, at locations to be determined based on local London needs at the time and will require some design elements to accommodate local site conditions and constraints, while being capable of rapid deployment, construction and commissioning to an agreed standard. This framework will be procured by the Authority as the pan-London lead, but all London local authorities may call-off against the framework. This will be a contingency cover framework and as such there is no minimum guarantee of any level of spend or call-off under the framework agreement. The above came from https://halturnerradioshow.com/index.php/en/news-page/world/uk-lets-contract-for-temporary-dead-body-storage-services-in-case-of-excess-deaths-event or https://halturnerradioshow.com/index.php/en/news-page/world/uk-lets-contract-for-temporary-dead-body-storage-services-in-case-of-excess-deaths-event but is proberbly serious. BoJo&Co may be looking for storage spaces all over the UK.... |

ME163...that is why forums like this one have a role to play...try to get info... UK reopening was expected to result in lots of new cases, would also bring more people dying from Covid. The basic UK idea was better "have a peak in the summer then in the winter"...and in itself maybe not even such a bad idea... Only "planning, timing" this pandemic would suggest at least some control over this pandemic...wich simply is not there ! Lots of countries may be preparing for "major increases in deaths". From looking for burial sites to "how to communicate" to avoid panic. From major outbreaks of diseases in larger cities we know-history-a city like London could see +1,000 deaths per day in a bad scenario. Other cities during this pandemic have been at that point or are there at present. The "good news" might be governments finally taking this healthcrisis more serious... |

Right from the start, our government believed they could control the severity of this outbreak - if they fed enough of us to the wolves. ( "Let the bodies pile up!" Boris is reported to have said, as he prepared to trade lives for the health of our economy.) In recent months they very nearly succeeded. But achieving this was always an illusion; even with a brilliant set of vaccines, this virus is impossible to control. The options were mass dying, or viral elimination; there is no middle ground. (Us or it, there had to be death.) IT IS OBVIOUS, THERE CAN BE NO ECOMOMIC RECOVERY WHILST THE VIRUS IS STILL SPREADING. Yet our plans are always far, far behind the curve*, reactive not proactive. I can't get too angry with our government for making some mistakes, Ardern is a one-off. But I am bloody livid they are not learning from their mistakes!! Until they get a grip on their impossible plans and unreachable goals, they can't get a grip on the virus. BORIS, GET A GRIP MAN!!! *so far behind, it could be said they have been lapped. |

Techno, I don't think we are even close to an idea of what to do. All that I know is that one more shut down and almost every private health plan in the US will be forced to declare bankruptcy. Several US states are on the brink of insolvency and I am down to 15 days to making a decision on teaching this fall. I need to tell my boss when I can come to work. I know it is a royal pain the rear for him. If I can work and a shutdown occurs then a legal clause in my contract tolls the deal and I get paid for the full year. If I can't work, I get 72 percent of my post tax wages for as long as I can't work. My doctor is telling me not to go to work until the booster shots are given. |

Wow that's a tough call to make. I was reading about the people who get pinged in the UK and they are expected to self isolate for 10 days and for many of them, that's unpaid. People have to eat and they have to have money to pay their bills. |

Poor old Boris is between a rock and a hard place. I have no idea what I'd do in his place. It's a right bloody mess. Our government told us all two weeks ago that achieving herd immunity was not possible unless 97% of the population could be vaccinated but that with 15% under 12 years old and a good % of adults unable to receive the jabs, it would never be possible. And I'm surprised that it's taken this long for the rest of the world to realise that too. I only saw reference to it today - 2 weeks later. Techno, what would you do if you were running the UK? I honestly can't see a way forward other than letting the virus go where it will. With restrictions in place the man on the Clapham omnibus is suffering financially, and what no government can afford to do is to let him and his like go bankrupt through no fault of their own. People have mortgages and bills to pay and mouths to feed. It's not right that someones hard earned savings are being used to pay bills that can't be met by any other means. Civil unrest is already rearing it's head, and the UK government is well aware that people are at breaking point. |

It's the governments duty to keep the population safe, After they have made vaccine available for all , They will let virus run, Then in any court cases ,they can say they did what was needed to to "keep population safe" but they can't force vaccination on the general public.... So if they get sick and die,or worse become disabled in any way because of C19.... Government can say "we did our best".... Arses covered....... Take care all 😷😉 |

Yes, he is between a rock and a hard place. But he squeezed his wide ass in that narrow gap, even when the scientists told him it was a trap. |

have an issue, My boss wants me to work from home this year. I told him yes. But only if I can do my work from 9 to 5. So far he has not said no. Do you all think that this is reasonable ? Jull and Becky are still here. I was concerned about the workload that they are taking on. They don't complain but i know that they need some vacation time/ away time. I told Jill to work it out with Becky and get back to me. I hope that everyone is safe and wearing your masks. We have been told it's time to go back to wearing masks and suits. So that is what we will do. |

Well this is the scariest thing I have seen in a long time. Why would you be procuring something that you have no expectation to use? Hmmm.... Anyone have any additional information on this? |
