Some friends of mine refer to this forum as "The Ark" and another "The Alamo".  What do you think is most appropriate?   Or, do you have anything that better describes this forum?

Inquiring minds want to know.

I think most of us(excepting perhaps Thomas Angel) prefer it to be the ark.
I had a little bird,
his name was Enza;
I opened the window,
and influenza.

I would say the ark, as we are trying to help some survive this.  If it's as bad as some make out, we hopefully will be  some of the  survivors in this.

 We're prepped and ready. Our preps are so if nothing happens we haven't lost any money, we can eat well, and are ready for an emergency.

I would go with the ark. That story had a happier ending if I recall correctly.

I would say "ARK".

But, we should be cautious.

Just proceed slowly and prep.

I would prefer it to be the Ark, but just realistic enough to realize that it's standing a good chance of being something more like the Alamo, or Stalingrad back in 1941-42...Berlin in 1945.

It's a little of both perhaps.

Mostly I have posted some of the things I have to for the express purpose of waking people up.  Not with the gentle nudge of a lover in the morning, but with 10 gallons of ice water thrown at them.  They wake up quicker with ice water...It's not a time, and there is not time available for us to be gentle.  I may not be capable of gentleness altogether.  No matter how this goes it's not going to be good, we all know that I think.  I always hope for the best, of course, but I also, on the other hand know the worst can and often does happen regardless of what we hope for.  It's best to consider the worst, that way you're prepared for it if it does happen.  If you never consider the worst, never stop for hour and think about that you are at a disadvantage if it does happen.  I want everyone to have every advantage there is and if that means I need to post some shocking imagery from time to time to accomplish that goal I am more than willing to do so.  It's worth it if it saves someones life.

I agree.  Many of us have grown soft and expectant of continued ease.  I hope you understand that my comment was just a bit of playful ribbing and not a judgment.

That's me! I am definately building the ark-a-moe!!!! Except minus the animals. I guess they're on their own this time.  Actually, I'm in charge of the ark and my husband is in charge of the alamo.

Corn, I love the animation. Very impressive, well done!   :>}

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale,
a tale of a fateful trip.
That started from this tropic port,
aboard this tiny ship.
The mate was a mighty sailin' man,
the skipper brave and sure.
Five passengers set sail that day,
for a three hour tour, a three hour tour………
The weather started getting rough,
the tiny ship was tossed.
If not for the courage of the fearless crew,
the Minnow would be lost; the Minnow would be lost.
The ship took ground on the shore of this uncharted desert isle,
with Gilligan, the Skipper too,
the Millionaire, and his Wife,
the Movie Star, the Professor and Mary Ann,
here on Gilligan's Isle.

Corn, I want to be on your ship , maybe as the navigator or helmsman. I want to be on the boat. I prefer the name HMS Iron Duke or HMS Ark Royal. I like the idea of the Battleship instead of a love boat. We won't have pirates after the battleships. they won't have a chance against 14 inch guns...

What fun it could be

Corn and Komet leave the ark after the 15th pandemic wave ready to repopulate the Earth.
