http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/a/202003/28/WS5e7ec1ffa310128217282b01.html China-Europe freight train service from Wuhan, the capital city of Hubei province, resumed regular operations on Saturday, allowing more goods such as medical supplies and daily necessities to flow more efficiently between the two regions, according to the Wuhan branch of the China State Railway Group.
Nearly 90 percent of all goods aboard were produced locally in Wuhan, including 166.4 metric tons of medical supplies such as medical fabrics. There were also auto parts, electronics and telecommunication cables on the train, and all these goods would aid in pandemic control and construction projects in European countries such as Germany, France, Hungry, the Czech Republic and Poland. https://www.rt.com/news/484344-china-wuhan-first-train/ Beijing has resumed its railway freight service between Wuhan and Europe by delivering medical aid to Germany as authorities work to lift strict quarantine measures after the number of new cases Covid-19 dropped. A train loaded with medical supplies and construction materials has left a station in Wuhan, the capital city of China's central Hubei Province, and is set to arrive in the city of Duisburg in Germany in two weeks, Chinese outlet the Global Times reported on Saturday. The delivery will be the first China-EU cargo freight operation from Wuhan since the city was placed under strict quarantine in January after the Covid-19 outbreak. The first ever Covid-19 cases were recorded in Wuhan in December, after which the city quickly became the epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic. Lockdown and the deployment of thousands of doctors helped to bring the number of new cases there to near zero in recent weeks. |

15 days in transit should help a lot of the viruses to die, as long as the containers are not handled too much along the way. |

Let's hope there are not to many virusses on them in the first place... http://english.www.gov.cn/news/photos/202003/28/content_WS5e7f1790c6d0c201c2cbfb0a.html Delivery of car parts etc. may also enable to-slowly-restart car production. Most likely a lot of facemasks, PPE, medical ventilators etc also on the way....once the US played that role (as manufacturer of the world). I would not be surprised if China would send hospitals by rail.... |
