You can't stop what you can't see. If your healthcare is so great, where are the test kits in Washington? Your Capital!

Maybe the greatest minds in the medical field know that the test kits are highly unreliable. I did read the UK is going to stop testing at 100 positives. There's no real point after that. Treat the symptoms, not the unreliable test results..

I think the biggest mistake everyone is making is comparing this with a Flu
This is a NOVEL VIRUS...... NEVER been seen before..... No one knows what is going to happen....... I'm as everyone knows ,not a chump fan, We have a political thread to unload on him, It's best at this time to all pull together And do what we do best stay apolitical .....on these threads..... And stick with the facts, as we know them Stay safe everyone |

The test kits are PCR which are about 95% reliable. Although I do believe there was a bad batch.
When you test everyone with contact and the positive tests go over 100 (that is 100 tests for a small country like us - the equivalent of one US state) you have, by then, probably lost control. The USA is not there yet. Without good tests, the chance to intercept the early stage is gone. 28 tests for -the whole of Washington is downright stupid! True, the disease will become endemic and this only buys time, but that time would save lives. It also distorts figures, you can't have positive tests without doing the tests. |

With all do respect Chuck, people take advantage of any type of situation they can. I do believe there will be chaos, not just because of Covid-19, just because people will create chaos because they can. I lived in Atlanta when a hurricane hit Florida, came straight up as a tropical storm to Atlanta, we were without electricity for 4 days. The grocery stores were wiped out, people were busting out windows of business grabbing clothing, TVs, furniture anything they could carry. There was a curfew, but they don't care, lack of police to stop the chaos, there was too much. This was the first time I ever decided it was time to own a gun. Another time I was living in Norfolk, Virginia, hurricane approaching, we lived in a very well off neighborhood and decided to stay. The people that left, a lot of looting went on, but we also had a lo of police presence in our neighborhood. People will loot and steal when they can get away with it and will do more when they are desperate. I've worked with people for almost 40 years, gang members, inmates, domestic violence victims, mental health clients, drug addicts, you name it I probably worked with it. Hope to retire soon. We're pretty sane here for the most part, but there's a whole other population out there that doesn't think the same way.

MIKE PENCE'S 'PRAY ON IT' PLAN TO COMBAT INDIANA HIV OUTBREAK RESURFACES AFTER TRUMP TAPS VP TO LEAD CORONAVIRUS RESPONSEAnother page of Pence's resume... After being tapped by President Donald Trump Wednesday to lead the U.S. response to the threat of coronavirus, Vice President Mike Pence's handling of an HIV outbreak while he was governor of Indiana made its way onto social media. Pence's slow response to the quick spread of HIV in Scott County, Indiana in 2015 led to the infection of over 200 people. When the idea of a needle exchange to slow the infection rate of the illness was presented to Pence he responded by saying, "I'm going to go home and pray on it." Even when Pence signed legislation for a temporary needle exchange program to be set up in the county two months after the HIV outbreak had been detected, he told reporters at a March 2015 news conference, "I will tell you, I do not support needle exchange as antidrug policy, but this is a public health emergency." Trump introduced Pence in his new role as being "very good on health care. When Mike was governor of Indiana, they've established great health care. They have a great system there, a system that a lot of the other states have really looked to to change their systems." "He's really very expert at the field," Trump added. Here's the kicker about Mike Pence enabling the worst HIV outbreak in the history of Indiana," tweeted Human Rights Campaign rapid response press secretary Charlotte Clymer, "it was all because he wanted to shut down Planned Parenthood, which were leading HIV testing centers in the state. Mike Pence's distrust of women led to an HIV outbreak. No joke." As Governor of Indiana, Mike Pence was so slow to start a clean needle exchange for IV drug abusers that by the time he finally did it, up to 215 people were infected with HIV in a population of just 24,000 people in Scott County," wrote physician Eugene Gu. "Trump naming him Coronavirus Czar is ludicrous." |

Feb. 27, 2020 at 5:57:22 p.m. EST U.S. surgeon general defends Pence’s handling of HIV outbreakU.S. Surgeon General Jerome Adams on Thursday defended Vice President Pence’s handling of Indiana’s HIV outbreak five years ago, asserting that Pence’s efforts became a “model” for other jurisdictions. Pence, appointed by President Trump to lead federal efforts to fight the coronavirus, has been criticized for his record in Indiana, where as governor in 2015 he oversaw the state’s response to its worst HIV outbreak. Researchers at Yale University found that the outbreak could have been prevented if not for Pence’s delayed response and opposition to a needle-exchange program. In his statement Thursday, Adams recalled that he worked closely with Pence at the time of the crisis and praised the vice president’s strategy. “Working together, we helped address the outbreak by implementing comprehensive syringe services programs that helped change the scope of the unprecedented crisis,” Adams wrote. “As a result, our efforts became a model for how other states and localities respond to similar crises — states like Kentucky, for example, went from zero to more than 70 comprehensive SSPs, to prevent future outbreaks and help people in need of care.” Pence appointed Adams as Indiana state health commissioner in 2014.
