I sure wish I had the answers. Watching Oprah today was a real eye opener. I learned things that I never ever knew. The 20 to 40 year olds were much more likely to die during the 1918 Spanish Flu Pandemic (which is not unlike h5n1) because their immune systems were healthy and developed. The virus triggered a hyperactive immune response.

My family lost 5 great uncles that week and my grandfather nearly died too. 

I wonder if harvesting one's own adult stem cells might be useful in a worst case scenario?
