So if you have been reading blood type may signal how you are going to do with this virus.  I am always curious so I ask questions.

Really? I haven’t seen that yet. I have a kid with a stomach bug and have been off the news for a couple of days! I’ll have to dig that one up.

I'm O -, wife is O+. She is a type 1 diabetic, and one of the boys we adopted has pretty severe asthma, so there's that.

On the other hand, I took all the boys out of school two weeks ago, and my wife started to SIP three weeks ago. We have a two mile ride to the town dock, and three big ass dogs that don't like strangers very much at all. So, there is that also.

Great!  Not only do I have high blood pressure, and take an ace inhibitor, but I have a blood type that raises my risk.

This is interesting that many of us have O not the same as the 80% that get a mild case but close.  I wonder if anyone has taken that stat the people who are on vents/really ill/ died ...what blood type they have. That would be interesting to know.

LOL, you did not have a baby?  Every woman knows her blood type that has had a baby!

It will not allow me to add another section for Do Not Know.  Sorry maybe you can do that.

Same!  I've thought about it for the last few years, but keep forgetting to have my dr put that on blood test requests.  Thinking about trying to find my childhood medical records and see if it's there somewhere.   (My mom's dead, no idea what type she was. Will call my dad later and see if he knows his)

It's really crucial that you know your blood type, Kim.  At least I think so.  Call your doctor's office if your Dad doesn't know.  They'll tell you.

Doctor's office doesn't know, I asked a few years ago. We just kept forgetting to put it on the request.

Edited to add: My dad is A+, and is almost positive he and my mom were the same. So based on an online calculator, 93.75% chance I'm also A+  (Usually when I ask him childhood stuff he has no idea, but his response was a quick "I assume you're A+, your mom and I both are")

Flubergasted: I'm with you on the trifecta. Plus I have asthma. Just gives us another reason to be vigilant about SIP.
